I bought this to connect to my Samsung POWERbot smart vacuum and I really like the other sensor that came with the kit. Use the power one every day with my Google home to turn lights on. Easy to set up and it really works but does not connect to NEST Smart thermostat very good so 4 stars.

SmartThings is a easy modular product to help turn your dumb home into a smart home. I don't have to purchase timers and other gizmos that aren't connected to give my home the illusion of being smart. I can add on one device a month (the price of a date) to make my home smarter.

When looking for different hubs I wasn't sure which one to pick because some people were mentioning this one has a bunch of issues.
In my experience its working pretty well, I already hooked up different devices of several brands and every works fine.
I also like the ability to create custom applications in a super easy way.

The SmartThings Hub is my current favorite after trying out several different ones. The developer community is very helpful if you need extra customization.

Best Choice for SMART HUB

Samsung Smart Things is in my opinion the current best choice for a smart hub. It has a large number of supported devices, and integrates directly with Amazon Alexa, the main factor in my purchase. Although, an Alexa enabled device is not required to reap the benefits of the Smart Things automation ecosystem. Setup is very easy and you will be up and running with home automation in no time at all.

This works as expected. I use the door sensor on my mailbox for a storage facility. We are not always in the office but are notified when payments are put in the box.

The SmartThings system is really simple to setup and the sensor are working great finger crossed no more coming home to a flooded basement, is like a bit more flex ability with programming routines and the apps but maybe it just my lack of experience at this point

This is a great kit for starters. For smaller homes, this kit + a SmartCam may be adequate. Otherwise, additional sensors may be added with ease.

This (Smart)thing is great! This is the central hub for all my smart devices. I love that it works with pretty much everything and no other hubs are needed. Been using WeMo switches, Lightify bulbs, Ecobee, and even Hue products and no need to have separate hubs for each. All controlled through one easy to use app. If you start using this with IFTTT, things get even better.

I have been very impressed with how smooth SmartThings works. My phone work great as a present sensor. There are a few bugs everyone once in a while but they are constantly updating the system.

The Samsung Smart Things home monitoring kit is a great way to get started in home automation. The sensors are useful for lots more than security. For example, you can use it to turn on lights when motion is detected. Also, since it is compatible with both Z-Wave and Zigbee, you can add lots of devices, like Cree smart light bulbs relatively inexpensively.

I got this for free with my new kitchen appliance purchases. Otherwise, I would not have paid for this. I like that you can set it to turn on the lights and it notifies you if the door has been opened. But it seems a bit complicated to use and you need to buy extra devices to unleash its full potential.
