Versatile budget hub for smart home automation, even compatible with non-Samsung sensors

I use this in combination with Alexa and My Hue hub. Links everything together well.

I was an original kickstarter backer of this product and used a 1.0 version hub for years. When I bought a new house I decided to bite the bullet and buy the 2.0 so it would work with some of my security cameras. Beware that you have to start all over and setup everything again when migrating from 1.0 to 2.0, but this wasn't a huge deal for me. Otherwise the 2.0 seems to work great, I'm still a huge SmartThings fan

Has some issues but overall its good for home automation and security.

For anyone who is planning on upgrading your home to a smarthome, I highly suggest getting something like the Samsung SmartThings Hub. This is the brains of all your smart appliances and through the mobile app, you can easily control things from anywhere. The options within the SmartThings Hub allows you to control your appliances by IFTTT, proximity, location, etc. so you can tailor everything to your liking.

Samsung Hub was easy to install and operate for centralizing my smart home devices.

I previously relied heavily on Amazon Alexa and a Zwave controller to manage my home automation. Adding this hub to our network greatly improved quality of life with better automation. No longer need to call out various commands to Alexa since this hub does a lot of automation behind the scenes. 4/5 stars because it needs some software improvements as well as some automation doesn't always fire.

Needed a hub to work with amazon echo. It was easy to set up and works well with echo dot.

I started me home automation project with an Amazon Echo. However, I was limited in what could do besides control my Lutron lights. After doing more research, I realized that the Smartthings Hub could be the central controller for my home. It controls Garage doors, locks, lights, thermostats and more. Unfortunately, it doesn't control the Lutron lights I previously purchased. I have gone to z-wave lights since.
