    Great at 1st

    Great at 1st, the longer I've had it the more annoying it has been. I started adding multiple items, but some just won't pair, some will pair but I can't control, and others will pair and I can control, but eventually stop working. My daughter loves the electronic door lock and it is pair but we have never been able to control it. For the camera's and thermosat, we use the associated device apps, since they would never pair. The 13 associated cree lights work most of the time, but eventually get stuck in a loop and either stay on or stay off regarless of what the program calls for. At any giving time, I will have 1-4 lights that won't follow program. I delete them and add them back and they will work for awhile untill some other light stops working. Once all the bulbs die, they will not be replaced and the hub will find it's proper home in the garbage. I believe most reviews were by folks who recently purchased the hub. I would have given a good review as well and did initially recommend to friends, but since them I have grown tried by the constant glitches. Be prepared to have to immerse yourself in the smartthings community searching for solutions that never truely get fixed.

    Worst Support Ever

    I have never experienced a poorer support group. I worked in the support field for thirty two years and never worked with a support group this bad. If I new the support was this bad I never would of bought it. I was planning to replace my Wink system thinking it would be an upgrade, but was I wrong. I have moved many of my devices back to Wink. After over a month and still not getting it working correctly I moved it back to Wink and it works properly. Samsung has been saying they are trying to hire and train new Techs, but come on, after six months of this and no improvements I don't think they are trying very hard. Also when they do respond the answer is poor. Example answer - first exclude the device then try to install it. The problem is they did not say how to exclude the device and the screen is several layers deep. I could continue to write several pages of complaints but typing one finger is getting old. DO NOT BUY unless you are a techno weinee and like to program your own device typ5.

    not the IoT hub I was hoping for

    Most of the reviews of SmartThings were positive, so I picked up this hub with the hopes of managing my new door locks and light bulbs. The initial setup was a nightmare - the Android app would constantly crash, to the point it was unusable. At one point I was even locked out of it due to an authentication error and had to complete reset everything to factory defaults and start over. I never did get it working. The app just crashed any time I attempted to do use it. So, back to the store it went. The story does have a happy ending: I picked up a Wink hub which has been performing wonderfully and actually works with more of my devices.

    V1 was an excellent little system for the money. Unfortunately ST got bought out and now they've released V2. Two months in the system still barely works. There is so little functionality that you can't even add additional users. You can only control it from one device. ST takes forever to get back to you from support and either tells you it must be your fault or it's going to be fixed "soon". They've stopped listening to users and have removed most of what made V1 a good system. Constantly broken or non functioning app. I have over 2k invested in ST and compatible devices and it's so bad now that I'm ready to walk away from all of it.

    This simply is too unreliable to rely on. Plus, customer support is terrible. Events to turn on/off lights are executed locally in the hub or from the SmartThings servers. You cannot control what is executed where. Local events stop working frequently. When I ask SmartThings support about this they say the problem is with their servers, which they are "going to fix". They refuse to explain why a problem with their servers stops local events from working. Updates of their hub firmware do not solve it.

    Set up is poor

    This product should come with a warning. In order to setup any smart device, the device must be within 15 feet of the hub. That sucks when you try to use the hub with smart wall switch. Of course you can purchase a long long LAN cable to get the hub as close as possible! If the hub is near your router you have no alternative other than using a long cable to get the hub as close as possible to the device.

    I had high hopes for this, however, I wasn't able to connect to the Internet. I checked the website help pages, and no luck. I liked the battery backup and small profile. I returned it and bought a Wink2 that connected right away. It seems like SmartThing didn't like the setup on my Asus RT-AC87U router, or defective product. I'll never know.

    it looks nice, easy to set up works for 1-2 days, I tried 2 different units; one from bestbuy and the other from amazon.com and both disconnected in 2 days and was not able to reconnect them. I did a factory reset and did not help, called member services and no luck either. avoid if possible, maybe next generation will be good.

    Multiple Samsung devices randomly shown as "device unavailable". To make matter worse, you don't even receive a warning when that happens, you will have to check the app to find out. Google "Samsung device unavailable" and you will see a long list of customers having the same issue.

    Did not integrate well with my current products. Connectivity was also an issue. A complete waste of time. Returned the item within days, product received mixed reviews from user and stellar reviews from online publications. If you ask me it was a waste

    Dont waste your money-no tech support via phone

    I bought this based on the reviews. Had trouble connecting a few devices including cree connected bulb. Tech support will not speak to you on the phone. Ultimately returned and bought veralite. Cant believe samsung allows this to happen.

    Never saw devices

    Took me a bit to get it hooked to wifi. It never did see my thermostat and switches. Returned it and hooked up vera and tech support was better than Samsung to get me going. Worth a try but just not for me I guess.

    i bought a smart outlet for my google home then learned i also had to buy this to make it work. Too many products and too expensive just to turn of my light.
