We control all our smart items in our home from the app. We’ve paired the SmartThings hub with our echo and can control everything with voice command. We have a Schlage door lock, 2-nest thermostats ring doorbell, Samsung TV all controlled with echo. We have a SmartThings sensor paired with echo and Alexa will tell us when the back door is open. This is a great feature.

This device worked amazingly well, but I had to return due to the shortcomings. Any automations (routines) I created for sunset, changed to sunrise. I called support and was given the run-around a few times. I discovered a solution on my own and deleted the sunrise automations, however, after being deleted they started running multiple times in the morning. One automation ran over 30 times over a 2 minute period. When I called about the new issue, I was told I could wait for tier2 to look into the issue further, or delete and re-add the devices (much easier said than done). I returned the device reluctantly, and switched to ring/amazon for my smart home needs.

Now all my programming is a mess and has to be redone. Figured I'd start from scratch with the newer hub as it was on sale and I had some coupons to bring the total cost to about $40. The old one was great - until it wasn't.
