Not as tech savvy as I used to be but it was easy to get up and running. The videos help in getting things working. Currently link a ecobee thermostat and samsung smartbot vac and things work well. Looking forward to adding more items to the home automation.

So far this hub has been excellent. Works flawlessly with other devices that didn't work so well in the past. App works well and is clearly laid out. Easy to add new items and make adjustments as well. Overall a great buy.

I am migrating to this unit from a previous model and can't tell you how happy I am. The initial setup is so much more streamlined than previous models. No keys to remember and to mess with when creating a Samsung account and if your dealing with multiple accounts the older versions are a huge hassle. This unit has not failed me once since I bought it and has heavy use with a variety ion smart home products. MORE AMAZINGLY is this can connect a Samsung Motion dectecto in my outdoor parking carport area that watches over my new car. It connects and alerts me as if it was just a few feet wishin the interior of my home. This is a shocker and something none of the others can match, THIS IS A FOR SURE ITEM for anyone considering itl

The setup instructions in the user guide and online need to be rewritten so they are useful.
First the hub kept disconnecting from wifi. I also couldn't get the door locks to connect. After resetting and going through setup three times I called support. The support lady was able to guide me through the installation.
The next day I tried to share the hub with another phone. Again the online instructions were of no use and I called support. Within just a few minutes the young man gave instructions that I had not found online.
Now the hub is working fine, so booo for the written instructions and praise for the phone support people.

The SmartThings 2018 hub is easy to setup and use. I bought this one to replace a SmartThings 2015 hub that would no longer establish a connection to my router.
I use the hub to control compatible GE receptacles, lights, and a Samsung TV.

The world of a connected home is relatively young and the compatibility between devices is limited. That said, I wanted to connect this device to a Schlage Z-wave front door lockset and did have trouble making everything connect. After about an hour of resetting the smart hub over and over, I got it to connect. It may have just been my unfamiliarity with this product, but I am not a technology novice and found it to have issues while setting it up. It has been a couple of weeks now, and the hub has stayed connected and I haven't had any issues. Bottom line...you may have to be very patient when you set it up, but it does work. Make sure any home automation product you are looking at, will work with this hub and if any devices you purchase dont need their own communication device to work with the hub. (ie I purchased Lutron PD-6WCL light switch and found I needed a Lutron hub of some sort to make it connect) Bottom line is that you need to do your homework before making a purchase.

The smartthings hub is extremely easy to use and allows many different devices to connect to it. Having both z-wave and zigbee is a huge advantage for smartthings.

This is the centerpiece of my home automation system. Setup and use are relatively easy. This interfaces with either zwave or zigbee devices and can be controlled with Amazon's Alexa.

I purchased this w/ 6 Leviton z-wave switches and everything works as expected. Pairing the switches with the hub worked fine for the first 3 but the last 3 were problematic. Once I got everything paired I ran a z-wave repair- no more issues. Lights work at scheduled times and I am able to use the app to activate and deactivate lights. Since I have my hub working off wifi I noticed a delay in communication when using the app. I just added a wifi access point to my home and communication is faster. It's only been 3 days so time will tell. So far I've paired my Ecobee Thermostat, Z-wave light switches, and planning to setup garage door but need to research. Overall, excellent system for the price.

SmartThings Is Awesome!

I love the Samsung SmartThings hub! It is very versatile and works with products from a multitude of manufacturers. My only concern with it is not based on the hardware but the SmartThings app. IMO, it is not as intuitive as I would like it to be and I'm not a tech newbie. In addition, I'd like to see it have native support for the MyQ Wifi garage door opener. On the upside, running routines work like a charm. Using motion sensors, I'm able to receive weather updates first thing in the morning and have lights turn off in certain areas when motion is not detected after a certain time.

So far I like this hub and interface. I have been working with Wink for several years now and I can see some shortcomings in this device or it may just be that it's not as straight forward as the wink for items like telling how long a door has been unlocked to be a trigger. I'll give this a little more time as the pairing process is a lot easier that Wink and has gone a lot faster so far with no, start overs.

I bought this to be the brain of my smart home. So far, I have added a Nest thermostat, 2 Ring Doorbells, 4 Sengled light bulbs, 4 Arlo Cameras, a harmony Hub, a GE smart switch, and 5 Sonos Speakers (very limited functionality with Sonos, as they aren't 'officially' supported). I have also set up some automations to turn off our downstairs Sengled bulbs at 11PM, turn them on 10 minutes after sunset, turn on my back deck light when there's motion detected from the Arlo camera. This thing is so versatile, and supports just about every brand of smart product you can think of (and if they don't yet support your favorite brand, they are likely working on it.) Invest in this Hub, it's only going to get better from here!

I'd rate the Smartthings hub (version 3) as very good. It was simple to hook up and attach to my network via the furnished RJ45 cable. I didn't try the WiFi connectivity, so I can't comment on that. Programming it to recognize and connect to the Samsung Smartthings sensors I also purchased was a bit more difficult, but if you have moderately technical skills you should be able to manage ok. I didn't have to call Samsung for any technical support, but I did use some of their FYI info online. I'm happy with my purchase and plan to buy more sensors and other devices to expand my smart home system.

I replaced my Wink hub with this when they went to a subscription services. This is by far a better system and does not have a subscription. More reliable and easy to use.
