Can’t get it working

Only good for a year

When devices such as sensors and cameras aren't working properly, the first step is to remove them from the app and reinstall and reconnect with the Hub. You may also want to check the camera's settings in the app as some of the features may have been turned off or deselected when the Hub was connected. It also requires the latest version of the SmartThings app (the logo is a large circle surrounded by five smaller circles). Not worth it

Not for 1st gen Iris

Excellent way to make your home smarter

The hub is reasonably priced and it works with both Zigbee and Z-Wave devices. Initial set up is easy and the hub and be connected via wifi or ethernet. I definitely recommend this product to make your home a smart home.

Almost there
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Replaced an IRIS by Lowes with the Smart Things Hub. Some pairing went OK and some did not. Toll free number was of some help. Doesn't seem to pair with Cree Smart Bulbs, but did with Osram and Hue by Phillips. Buttons were relatively easy. Now going to do the automation and hope it works out reasonable well.

Price is right. Fast wifi and works with everythin
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Pro: Cheaper than others, fast and good connection, strong wifi good with mesh router, you can put it any where instead of mount on the wall, long range connection Con: app doesn't find the devices while installing the app does not find the device, however we can find it manual and install it by match the serial number. Not a big problem though.

Easy setup, good API

Plugged it in, scanned the QR, and started adding nodes within a few minutes. The Smartthings app is a little slow on my old phone, but it comes with several useful automations and the ability to quickly add 'if this then that' events. If you want to do even more, they have a pretty good API based on Groovy where you can write advanced scripts and device handlers.

Really nice hub

I love having everything in one ecosystem. We did have a problem with set up. We tried resetting it a bunch of times before I realized we had to remove the hub from the app - this step was omitted on a lot of guides found online. After that we had no problems. Pairs nicely with z-wave switches.

I decided to use smartthings hub to avoid having multiple hubs, and apps. I really like having everything in one app. Setup all scenes, and automations in one place. Works good with both Alexa, and Google assistant.
