The camera worked fine for three days then stopped recording. The app does not allow you to reset the camera. I was 2 hours away and unable to troubleshoot. I don't think you should have to troubleshoot a new camera. I took it back.

The major con outweighs all the pros. You only get 10 seconds worth of video in the form of a clip. Most of the time you can’t even see what’s happening in the clip before it ends. Not worth the money. Try Eufy.

Worked for a week then started going offline. Had to keep unplugging and plugging back in to get it to work. By the time I figured out it wasn't our wifi or the app. It was past return date.

I love this camera, until I found out I need to pay to be able to view it on my phone in real time. I was nice to watch my cats and I was planning on using it to let the meter reader in when I am not home...not sure if my 30 day free trial will be up when this is scheduled. The camera is nice, easy to position and has a great pic, but I only gave it three stars because of the service that I would have to pay for. I will do more research on this to see what I can come up with for service. I would recommend it however as it can be a vital part of home security.

I'm pleased with these cameras. I haven't had any problems. I gave them 4 stars and not five because I think the interface on the app is a bit confusing, but no reason not to buy them. Also, the camera can not be controlled from the app to turn and look at other things. Even cheaper security cameras have this feature these days s Setting up the optional recording or motion detection notification requires the usual level of effort to set up today's tech devices. Search for and download the online manual. Good part is that the camera can be added to the smart things app on iPhone, but the app could be more user friendly in terms of the UI and the way things are organized. I am able to setup rooms in the app, but it becomes slightly confusing. Video quality on the camera is 1080p, which is pretty good for security purposes. Two way radio is also a good feature. I have a pet at my home and this is very useful sometimes when I want to talk to my pet. Overall, a good camera for the price. Would recommend this to my friends.

East to install using the QR code and the smart thing app. High quality image, though you need a good router and internet connection for better quality. It does NOT require a hub which is awesome. The only thing I really didn't like, was that during installation it made me choose a 30 day premium service trial (it didn't give me an opt out option). This service enables you to have more than 24 continuous hours of viewable video, since 24 is what you get for free. I don't think Samsung will actually charge me anything, but I always like having the option of choosing my service level (even if it's free/trial). Other than that, the camera is sharp-looking and being able to have a 2-way convo is Handy. Just make sure your network is secure.

I have this camera on a desk in a room in the front of my house and I have the camera pointed outside that gives me a great view of the entire front of my house including my front door area. It works seamlessly with my Smartthings App on my home WiFi. Very easy to use through the samsung smartthings app. It allows for 1080p video and 2 way audio and it also comes with 24 hrs of free cloud storage in case you need to refer back to a video. It's a video camera and it works well.

The setup is easy, app is very user friendly, and when it works i have no problems. I'm having an issue with keeping the camera connected. Every morning i have a notification saying its been disconnected and I have to unplug and replug to get it back on. May be a faulty camera. I'm interested in other testimonies about this problem.

Disclaimer: I was a SmartThings user before I got this camera, so I was already familiar with the usage of the app and how to incorporate devices into scenes and automations. I think that if you're new to it, it can be a bit daunting but their community forums are very, very helpful. I also had to exchange the first camera due to technical issues (and yes, I worked with technical support and we tried many things and stumped even their next level engineers). The second camera worked exactly as it should. From a picture quality perspective, the default option is called HD - but there's another option called FHD (which I think means "full high definition"), and an option for HDR. Once these are enabled, the detail you can obtain from the live view is as close as you get to "being there." My main use is for motion detection to trigger other automations. Included with the camera is the ability to record 10 seconds for up to 4 cameras. I feel that the subscription price for 60 second recordings and longer retention (which is currently $8/month) is a bit pricey for what it is - but this could be a great entry level attempt as using these for home security. There's even integrations with ADT as a professional monitoring service, although I didn't have interest in trying that. One nice feature that I don't take enough advantage of is using the speaker on the camera, which can let you talk to the person in the room. I imagine that could be very useful for conversations with someone far away.

This camera was super easy to set up once I got the SmartThings app installed on my phone. You actually don't even need the SmartThings hub to use it--it simply connects to your WiFI. I was able to get in and start viewing the live camera stream in just a few minutes. The full HD picture is crystal clear and you can also tap the speaker icon to turn on audio to listen. You can also turn HDR on/off and choose a wide or standard view. The video clip recording time can be set to 10, 30, 45, or 60 seconds, although I think once the free trial of the premium subscription expires you may only be able to do the 10 second clips. The app says the Premium plan is $7.99/mo or $79.99/yr. Among other things, it gives you 30 days of cloud storage, recording from up to 8 cameras, person detection, and customized motion detection zones. It does seem to be geared more as a security device so it records motion when the app is set to "Arm (away)" and stops recording when "Disarmed." I could be missing some of the deeper configuration options, but I haven't found a way to just have it detect/capture motion on a timed schedule. Depending on how you want to use this camera, that might be something to consider.

I wanted to like this wifi indoor camera, but I have some reservation regarding its alerting system. quality of picture is outstanding "no doubt". SmartThings app is laggy and has few bugs where app crashes on my both operating systems IOS & Android. I navigated through the app and added other services work with Samsung SmartThings and looks great except few bugs that I hope Samsung considers an upcoming update to fix it. After couple days and hours working to get alerts to work but no way, the only way is to open the camera live and see though its trail of motion detection. Security cameras are designed to alert for motions/ sounds but don't know if my is defective or it is just s bug. I have researched and rest the whole settings several times. I dropped one star for missing alerts feature. picture quality and build are great.

It's ok when it works correctly

Performance of my camera is very hit or miss... but mostly miss. It has only actually worked about 1/3rd of the time I've had it. It goes offline all by itself pretty much daily. The information I get on my phone says "Something went wrong. Reset your camera and try again" Which was all good when I was at home, but now I'm 450 miles away for work in another state, and the camera quit working. Then it started working again a few hours later, and then it quit again for no reason. It has done this off and on thing the whole week that I've had it. The other issue is the video recordings. First I don't like that I had to sign up to something just to make the camera even record, especially since it's only free for the first month, and then I'm assuming I'll have to pay to keep using it. The second thing is that I get notifications that something happened and was recorded, then when I click on the recording I get an error message "video error" and nothing was actually recorded. Another thing that is super annoying, is that when the camera was actually working, and when it was actually recording, it only records in 10 second clips.. so a 5 minute video of my room mate in the kitchen, is broken into 50 clips, and it sent me a text notification for all 50 clips, 1 at a time, for each and every time.. talk about super annoying. Another failure is the speaker. I tried to talk to my room mate through the speaker, and he texted me saying that al he heard was a siren sound, some buzzing, and a few clicks. Another gripe is the motion detection. I mounted the camera in the kitchen where it can see the hallway to the bedrooms, the entire living room, and the front hallway and front door. However... the motion sensor doesn't trigger until someone enters the kitchen. So basically half or more of my house is free game to a thief as long as the don't get hungry and try and make a sandwich. And the last thing I have to gripe about it the way it mounts. There is no way included to mount at an angel. I had to make a custom mount to put my camera where I wanted it, but a simple swivel ball mount base that could be pivoted and spun would be better. Bottom line: NO I do not recommend

I had a little trouble setting this camera up, I had to call my cable company to get my internet upgraded because while setting up I would always get an error. After upgrading my internet setup was very easy. As far as the camera, I’m not a fan. It is very blurry when zoomed in and when zoomed out I feel like I do not get a good clear picture/video.

The SmartThings camera easily connects up to the app by scanning the bar-code so configuration is simple. It has a nice wide angle lens that can capture a room from almost any angle. Through the app you can "pinch" the screen to zoom in and the picture quality is still pretty good. You can have the camera trigger on motion, sound or both. One thing I did notice is the camera stays warm. Nothing excessive but it is noticeable. Overall it provides a very good quality picture for internal viewing.

Good camera, best features, does not work

I liked features ease of access and picture quality. Was happy during 3 days. The only issue was: camera became rather warm, but not burning hot. After 3 days camera began to disconnect. Maybe that was result of no motion detected for several hours. A couple times only resetting helped; several times camera continued working after it detected motion (I came close). Called customer service. Aufil sound; I hardly understood what the agent said. Finally (and I asked to confirm it) I was told that the camera does not work with 5G wifi and works with 2.4G and I should ask my service provider to provide 2,4G. Not sure that is correct, but it is definite sign that the camera is not ready for production. Returning it to Bestbuy.
