great Multipurpose Sensor. you can control climate and alerts

A definite must have for any home with smart things. Easiest sensor to have trigger events throughout the home such as turning on lights automatically when you get home. The sticky tape they include sticks incredibly well.

I have multiples of these. I love that they can tell you a lot of readings from around the home. I have them set to monitor my garage door's tilt, the temperature all around the house, and a few windows.

Setup was simple and not complicated. Download app and install the sensors which I did with the supplied double face tape. My kit came with 2 multipurpose sensor which I installed at the front door and back door. I purchase an additional multipurpose sensor for the Garage door. The motion sensor covers the living room, part of kitchen and dining room since it is a open floor plan. The outlet sensor which was included in the kit at present is not being used. This is a wireless system which uses Bluetooth to link all sensors (exemptions outlet sensor which is powered by your A.C.),with the hub that is connect to your home network with the supplied Ethernet cable. The sensors are powered by Lithium CR2450 batteries something you should consider and factor into total operation costs. Alerts are sent to my phone whenever triggered. Only problem I have is that the alerts continue to be sent to my phone even after resetting the sensors and clearing the alerts on the phone app, even after I deleted the app from my phone. At present I have the hub disconnect from my home network and I blocked the number which was constantly receiving the alerts on my phone. This solved the constant alerts messages problem, but now I am left with a home security system that is not connected. I hope to give it another try soon before it’s warranty expires. At present I would explain the problem I am having to anyone asking me my opinion of the product.

The SmartThings multipurpose sensor has the best all around functionality as it can serve as both an open/close contact as well as a tilt sensor and a thermometer. It's integration is nearly instant. Well worth the money.

Works but might be little flaky and might need reset

its good on the door and window too. I recommend it

I love the multipurpose sensor. I added one to each of my windows. They not only tell you if a window is open or not, but they also tell you the room temperature. A great addition to my smart home.

I have only had this sensor for a few days and wow. This sensor can read temperature, detect vibration, and can be used for opening and closing applications. I will definitely buy more of these for my house.

Needed more sensors for present Samsung security system. Have had system a couple of years and recently moved to a new location. System was very easy to relocate and get back up and running.

This sensor is very easy to install and set up in the smart things app. But, it stopped working a month into usage. I had to reset it and set up again. There were no proper reset instructions given.

This sensor is great. Like it says it's a multi purpose sensor so you could use it in a variety of ways. I used mine on the doors and windows to know when they are open or closed and to know if there has been an intrusion. They work great. The only thing I can think of to improve the product would be an extra magnet so I can place 2 on the window one on the closed position so if open it would go off and one in a half open position so it would go off if someone were to move it from that position. Other than that suggestion these sensors work great and easy to set up.

I bought several of these when they went on sale. Paired easily with the Smartthings hub and work just as expected. Nice addition to my diy security setup and definitely recommend.

Bought this as an addition to my growing smart home. Installed on my utility room door for monitoring and light automation. Very easily installed, paired with smartthings and works flawlessly.

I have one on every door of my house and i have only had problems with one, which i should probably return. the others have been very solid on their connectivity and very easy to set up and use.

I Bought this thinking it was only a open-close sensor but, it was much more. You can measure temperature and vibrations too. With the Smart things hub you can used as a perfect security device.
