Hard to extend or retract without touching screen

The wall mount functions as described. The problem is that it is difficult to extend or retract the TV without positioning my hands on the screen. The last thing I want to do is risk damaging my new expensive TV by pushing and pulling on it, or at minimum getting finger smudges all over it. I wish there was a place on the back of the TV or the mount itself where I could get a better grip on it, but at this point I am reluctant to use this mount very much at all. Which is very disappointing considering I spent over $300 on it.
