It lets the TV move right and left as well as up and down. The Best Buy installer said it was his favorite wall mount kit. It also allows the TV to adjust left and right along the rails.

Sturdy and steady which is really what I was worried about. A little hard to slide the TV side to side once mounted so make sure you have it exactly where you want it the first time!

Purchased this when I bought tv, just in case the old one would not work, so I would be able to have installation without delay. Refund was provided quickly.
