    TV mount above a fireplace. With the fireplace mantle it would be nearly impossible to get behind the TV and the "6.8" extension in reality was more like 4". Chose to return and go with a model with a longer extension. Love their height finder and awesome technical support.

This Advanced Tilt 4D mount does extend up to 6.8" from the wall, though the usable clearance can feel less depending on TV size and placement — especially when mounting above a fireplace with a deep mantle.     The Sanus Premium Series Advanced Tilt 4D TV Wall Mount is strong enough for my 75 inch TV and hides a wireless cable box and an old Monster voltage regulator and surge protector that I used on my previous TV for 14 years.
