The two scissor arms which allow this also allow the screen to be pulled out slightly to access behind it and for power supplies or Roku type boxes to be tiewrapped to the bracket. However, it does stand out from the wall further than a non-tilting mount would. If the side view of your setup is highly visible this may be a consideration.

I asked why the box was opened and the service person had no answer, but said, "If anything is missing just bring it back. once I got home and started taking it out the box to mount on the wall -I did not have the hardware (No screws). I could have brought it back to the store, but I paid someone to install it for me and what a hassle that would have been, so I had to improvise. I learned later that if the box was opened, I should have gotten some money owed back to me for the item being open box!
