It allows us to tilt and pivot so that we can have the best viewing even with all the windows we have on the east and west side of the tv. It is built very well and easy to put up. One thing I would like to know that either wasn't mentioned or I simply missed it is how do you release the locks on the lower portion of the mount, just in case I may ever need to take the tv down or replace it.

I only needed a mount that would tilt but was happy to see you can pull the tv away from the wall with just enough space to mess with any connections.

The mount was easy to install and has all the screws to mount just about all brands of TVs. The mount is sturdy and solid and has beefy lag bolts for installation to the wall. The range of motion is good. It comes away from the wall pretty far ( I don't have an exact number) and tilts up and down and left and right. It comes with a template to tape to the wall so you'll know where to drill your holes.
