I have a 9yr old and 5yr old boy who are constantly told not to lean or place to much weight on it. One shelf houses a cable box and DVD player while the other one houses a WII U. Every time the place a game or DVD in a Device they lean on the shelves which have held up well to my surprise. The glass shelves our solid if my 2 boys who are constantly all over them haven't broken them yet!

It holds my cable box and Blu-ray player and makes them look like they belong there...not stuck in whatever location was available. The unit looks good and was easy to assemble with high quality components. I suggest also using some manner of cable hiding system in conjunction with this for an optimum appearance.
