    Definitely the best external HDD I've ever purchased. When shake (gently), this is the first external I've bought that you did NOT hear the actual hard drive inside the case, moving around. Solid build.

    I returned the WD D-10 because it kept intermittently sleeping between 30 seconds to a few minutes which couldn't be fixed even in the terminal on my M1 mini. i know its been a long debate between WD and Seagate but from my experiences Seagate has brought me the least amount of issues. I got the 8 tb and have dumped about 5tb of movies on it. no delays at all.

    I'm old enough to remember when only a business could justify spending $1,000+ on a 10MB HDD, with read access ~400ms. Seagate has been my mainstay mass storage device since the mid-80s, and I don't anticipate being disappointed with this drive.
