It’s just not there yet. Tried to replace my Logitech harmony but it can’t deal with the list of devices I have. Not sure it does a very good job at all. Kind of clunky in the way it handles groups of disparate devices. I put it back in the box and it’s sitting in a closet. Perhaps they’ll update over time?? I just wanted it to seamlessly control a late version Samsung TV, Marantz receiver, Apple TV , Fire TV, Sonos and Lutron lighting for 1 room. Not there...

I don't even vaguely understand why anyone gives this a good review. The battery drains completely if taken off the stand and left on my coffee table for a night with no use. Room sensors continually need to be calibrated. Worst product I've ever bought. I want to love it, but all it is is a nice looking piece of glass that has no actual use. I wonder how many of these reviews are by employees of SevenHugs.

I would like to mention that Sevenhugs Smart Remote is a touchscreen universal remote and due to this it will consume more battery than normal classic remotes consume and it will often need to be charged.
We understand that this is not a behaviour that you may be used to and we also recognize the need to extend the current state of the battery life so I would also like to mention that in our next update which should be implemented in the coming weeks, will see certain features that will extend the battery life much longer than the current capabilities and make this more satisfactory for users, so we would like to ask for a bit more patience and you surely will not be disappointed !

Great at first, but...

The sevenhugs remote seems wonderful at first, but after living with it for a while I have come to realize that the screen is too small, the battery life is unacceptably bad (the remote has gone from fully charged to dead in less than a full day of sitting on a table), and the remote is not as customizable as it should be.
Most recently my remote reset and will no longer connect properly to the app to download the "experiences". I have reset everything, deleted the app, and started over several times only to have the same problem. Unfortunately after 1 week the sevenhugs team has yet to respond to my emails. At this point the remote has become an expensive yet small brick.

Very frustrating experience

After getting a support email back, I was able to add most of my devices and able to implement some AV scenes.
Here are some specific problems:
1. One of my device: Sony CD player model SCD-CE595 is in the database, however, the app keeps crashing when I tried to add it.
2. One of my device: Yamaha receiver model TSR-7790 is in the database, however, the Sevenhugs Smart Remote doesn't have the input of "Net" for selection of Pandora which I have to custom create which is fine, but when I leave my custom "Listen to Pandora" AV scene and get back in, it doesn't go back to the right setting which is very frustrating. Also, the simulated remote control display from Sevenhugs Smart Remote for the Yamaha TSR-7790 is quite insufficient. There should be another display page for controlling the sound preferences of DSP (for example: Dolby Logic, Roxy Theater, 7-Channels, etc.)
3. AV Scenes creation is quite frustrating. Either it should all be done by the app or the remote, but Sevenhugs Smart Remote made it confusing when it has the user doing some steps on the app and not really informing the user what to do next. I had to figure out from the support email that I had to finish up the steps on the remote.
All in all, it was not a pleasant experience at all trying to set up Sevenhugs Smart Remote.
It's a well built hardware, but they have a long way to go with making it easy for the user to set it up. Unfortunately, I don't have the time or patience to do trial and errors for the company or waiting for them to make it better. I have to return it. Sevenhugs should look and study the Logitech Harmony Elite interface. That's what I currently have and I was hoping Sevenhugs remote is better so I can switch, but it's not the case at all.
For $299 or even $199, it's not worth it. Sevenhugs Smart Remote still has a long way to go to figure things out to make it simple for the users. Stay away.

The product works just as advertised. I like how I can now control my TV and music from a single remote. It was very easy to add all my devices which include my Roku TV, Sonos stereo system, and my Nest system. Would recommend for the novice tech user or the tech geek.

I purchased the remote as part of the Kickstarter, where they promised that the device would be able to control essentially every piece of smart home tech in my house. While the thing is certainly a capable universal IR remote, able to learn IR codes as well as devices that cost half as much, the product differentiator was SUPPOSED to be smart home control. To date, more than two years after the hardware was delivered, you can control Hue, Sonos, Wemo, LIFX, and NOTHING MORE. Not a single new integration has been introduced in more than 18 months. If I could get my money back, I would. The manufacturer is very long on promises, with nothing ever actually being delivered. One of the most disappointing projects I've ever backed on KS.

I bought this product a little over a year ago. It was great at first and showed great promise. That being said it is basically a dead unsupported product now. The company was bought out for its patents and has not replied to anyone in the support forums for a couple months. There have been no previously promised updates to add supported devices and product upgrades. Posts pointing out this fact have been deleted as well in the forums. I would not buy this product nor recommend it to anyone.

Brutally painful support. I've tried talking to Carla over many months to resolve the issue of my device not taking new firmware (seems like a simply problem to fix, no? ) and here I am still without a usable device. I'm not sure if this has something to do with the company selling to Quorvo or what but the experience has been so painful.
I wish this was a company that was able to stand by its products a little more.

Turn off and back on Smart Remote and try again (you may need to try this up to 5 times) If this does not help, connect your Smart Remote to a hotspot created with your phone and try again

Had High Hopes...Immediate Fail

I had high hopes for a remote that could turn on the TV, adjust the lights and choose the input, but I wasn't even able to get the remote to link to my iPhone due to lack of 5G wifi support. I don't want to dumb down my 5G capable devices so this remote is useless to me. I can understand that the remote needs to connect to 2.4G, but it should be able to still see 5G devices on the same network. This is a big fail for me for a $300 device in 2019.

Smart Remote does not support 5G wifi as this is a lot of other Smart Home devices currently on the marketSome routers do broadcast 2 WiFi networks, one 2.4G and the other 5G. In most cases devices on one WiFi network can see the devices on the other.
We do have a large amount of users who make use of both 2.4G and 5G wifi networks which work smoothly. Perhaps I would recommend to review the network settings just to make sure as normally this issue that you experienced should not be the case.
