Not the best for the price

Ugh, I really wanted it to work.

Owned for 1 month when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Con- I purchased a first-generation iRobot nearly 8 years ago; it worked great and lasted exceptionally well. I recently replaced it with the Shark. The Shark started off well enough but went south quickly. The Shark is simply not made nearly as well as the iRobot, it’s sensors drive it full throttle into objects (beating the heck out if it almost immediately) and it continuously gave me unclear/unresolvable errors when no real challenges for operating smoothly existed. In less than a month it literally stopped working for no discernable reason (note- I carefully cleared and prepped areas it operated in, cleaned it after every use and made sure nothing was stuck in it). Pro- The Shark does include ingenious/cost effective magnetic tape strips to block areas you don’t want it going and it is very quiet (unfortunately it became too quiet when it stopped working all together). Ultimately, I had no choice but to return the Shark and get an iRobot, which is working flawlessly. There is just no way to get around the fact you get what you pay for.
