I bought this based on reviews, I have two dogs and this was rated highly for dog hair. It does a good job, mapping is not the best, I love the function that allows the vac to go home and empty itself during cleaning. That said this feature would be great if I could change it to dump more frequently.

This vacuum picks up much more than the last one we had. It seems to move in more of a pattern too. the problem I have is with so much dog hair in our home, I still have to empty it daily but it shows me just how strong it is to pick up so much hair. Easy to empty and picks up hair and dust.

It’s alright. Not worth the price though. Everything gets stuck in it, so I’m constantly having to flip it over and take out whatever is in the way, so like cereal ( in the commercials it picks it up easily, in real life it jams ) it does pick up a lot of dust and little dirty here and there. I got it because I have 2 dogs and they shed a lot and I don’t see as much hair anymore which is nice ! Self emptying is alright, doesn’t do too much of a good job.

I am thoroughly surprised at how much it grabs, but don’t expect it to be without some maintenance. I have kids, so it has its work cut out for it.
Pros:
1. The vacuum is great and the ability to turn it on max mode is nice.
2. The house mapping is fair, but the clean by room feature has yet to work for me, but it does go back where it mapped pretty well.
3. It finds the dock most of the time and the system is easy to clean.
Cons:
1. The app sucks. If you manage to get it to work, the robot looses connection with WiFi and has to be manually rebooted. It is close to my router and devices 5xs as far away stay connected with no issues, but not the shark.
2. When it gets stuck, don’t expect the app to let you know until hours later when the notification comes through. (Guess this should really be con 1.2)
3. The dust bin doesn’t always fully evacuate into the housing unit and sometimes needs manual cleaning to get it back going. You may not recognize this till you see it pass trash and not pick up.

Definitely worth the extra price to have the self-empty function. I have 3 cats and I ended up emptying the normal IQ about once every 2 days whereas this one I only empty about once every 3-4 weeks so far. The tracking and functionality are also significantly better than the base model even including a barrier you can place anywhere you don't want it to go without having to map it out in the app.

This is my second IQ Robot Vacuum. After about 1-1/2 years something happened to one of the wheels. Fortunately I had purchased the extended protection plan, so I returned it to Best Buy and they sent it to be repaired. Unfortunately, they were unable to repair it, so I bought this one with the refund they gave me. Originally, I chose this one for the self-empty feature and the bagless container. I have two dogs and both shed pretty bad, so I run it everyday, except Saturday and Sunday, through the part of the house they can access. This IQ Robot is a big improvement over the previous one. My first was always getting lost somewhere and by the time I got home in the afternoon, the battery was dead so I could not use the "Find Me" feature. I have had this one since the beginning of June and have only had to go find it twice. The only complaint I have is that I have long hair and when I run it in the bedroom and bathroom, my hair does wrap around the roller, but I have never had a vacuum that hair doesn't wrap around the roller, so for me, it is not a big deal. I have had to deal with that my entire life of vacuuming. The bot-boundry works well for me. I only use it under the bed just around the edge, out of site, and the vacuum has never gone under the bed. The map feature works nicely. Sometimes on the weekend I will run it just in the living room and that works great also. All in all, I love it.

Its easy to install but the mapping device in the iShark is sometimes difficult to understand. I have had to make adaptations to it. Its a little difficult to clean it out too, Overall, I ike it and it does a very good job of cleaning the floors and carpet!

I have a one bedroom apartment all hardwood floors and carpet in the bedroom. It works amazing!! I have long hair and I’ve yet to have issues with it clogging up. Took 3 cleaning to make a map and has been great ever since. The only issue I’d say I’ve had is when it goes to empty part clean it try’s to take the straightest path regardless of what is in the way.

I gave this product ample time to prove itself and did not. I am a Shark fan but this product forced me to choose another brand.
- IOS app never worked but the Android app worked just fine
- Poor battery - on the lowest setting with no carpet - did not live up to it's 1 hour run time.
- Seem to be lost some of the time
- After purchasing a different brand - I can honestly say I don't feel that they have the best suction. Not at all -
- not real happy with the dust left behind
Self empty was nice, however very dirty! I changed my mind about the No Bag System - I prefer a bag, much much cleaner.
Overall - not a robot for our home

Love this concept. The ability to run the vacuum twice while I'm at work is amazing. However it's very sensitive. We have two cats, that love to leave small toys out. They get lodged and the robot stops dead in its tracks. We also have two dogs that love to shed hair. So unfortunately we do not get a 30 day vacuuming. But running twice a day for a week before cleaning the reservoir. Need to clean the robot more frequently also.
Have had to re-learn the mapping twice sofar. For what ever reason robot stops running in the middle of a room, no obstructions just stops, and has loss of memory. I notice the robot is unable to find the dock have to manually place it on the dock.
All in all loving the robot. Having to take extra precautions to confirm a solid run schedule. Great on pet hair, Golden retrievers hair also.

Shark isn’t better

We purchased the shark r100ae with the auto empty base and then returned it for the Roomba 960 and here’s why...
The shark seems drunk and sorta lost half the time, gets stuck ALOT, and in general it’s just less efficient than the Roomba. The auto empty base is cool at first but then you realize you have to clean the filter on the vacuum and the base pretty often anyway, so why not just dump the bin in the vacuum manually?
The Roomba 960 is smarter, looks like it knows where it’s going, and is more efficient in doing so...gets more of my house clean in actually less time than the Shark. The lack of an auto empty base is not a con at all to me. Haven’t tried all brands, but between Shark and Roomba I’d definitely say Roomba.

I looked at the Shark because it was much cheaper than the Roomba, and the Shark actually cleans in a pattern. We have a 70lb Fox Red Labrador dog, and he sheds a lot. The Shark does a great job sucking up all of the hair. It usually has to go empty once during the cleaning as we have about 1,000 sq feet that it cleans.
After about 4 days of using the Shark it had mapped our main level, and did a very accurate job mapping our house. It sucks up a lot of hair and dirt, and it really gives the house a "just cleaned" look. It goes back and forth with straight lines, and is great going around chairs and under couches etc... You can set up areas of the house as rooms, and tell it only to clean certain areas of the house if you prefer.
They say will store about 30 days of dirt in the dirt bin, and that seems very accurate for the average house. With a dog that sheds a lot we could go about three weeks without emptying the bin. The longest I've gone is two weeks without emptying the bin, and there was room for more.
I was actually surprised how well it sucks up dirt and hair. It far surpasses what I expected when I bought it. We are considering buying another one or two for our other levels of our home. I would highly recommend it.

This works so much better than I expected! I am a senior citizen with a couple of health issues so I have not been able to use a vacuum cleaner on a regular basis. This Shark Robot has made my life so much easier. I have had my Shark for over a month and it's been stuck just twice. I corrected that problem so it has not happened again. Also very easy to program. I highly recommend this to everyone.

The IQ Robot works well in a room where there is no furniture! Had trouble locating our new IQ Robot as we did not have 6ft of clear wall space with 5 ft in front. I used only 2 ft on each side and it seems to work ok. The device works well.

I have had this for a year.
I have pets and this will lessen thr burden of having to clean all the time. Works best on floors. Its ok on carpet. The mapping feature is a bonus. It certainly helps and so do the magnetic strips.
My only disappointing issue was that the motor simpmy stopped working properly so the rolling brish wont move and thus the robot thinks theres always an obstruction and then no cleaning anymore.
Also take the self cleaning brush feature with a pinch of salt... every few days youll have to clean the roller.

I was not very optimistic when I bought this, considering we have 2 dogs, one which sheds like crazy. I can honestly say, however, that I can now walk barefoot in our house and not feel hair! Even my socks aren't full of hair like before. I love how you can set the time for it to clean and it also empties itself. We still sweep, but nowhere near as often. Would definitely recommend.
