This product went above and beyond my expectations. We have 2 dogs that shed all the time and this thing devours the hair they leave around the house. I don't know how I've lived without a shark all these years.

    Inconsistent, Maps Unreliable

After using iRobot Rombas for 6years I decided to try the Shark because it doesn’t use Vacuum Bags”. The Vac doesn’t get corners On the High Mode, it’s still not enough suction. The App has a mind of its own. I’ll tell it to vacuum the livingroom it will Vac the kitchen. I’ve tweek the map, made rooms, made zones and the Shark still does not go to the correct room. It would give me error messages, when nothing is wrong. The battery would only last 45min before I had to charge it. Summary: I took the vacuum back because I purchased it with a warranty and spent the extra money and purchased the iRobot j7; which is the best Vac I’ve ever had.

Shark is a good vacuum but the battery is not strong enough to go through all house (2100 sq) and charging too long.

It takes 6 to 7 times to fully map out the floor plan. But once the mapping is done, it's a great purchase.

Struggles with pet hair on carpet

The Shark IQ does a decent job on hardwood floors of picking up pet hair, but on carpet it just runs right over it leaving it behind. You can even drop pet hair right in front of it while on carpet and it just leaves it behind. The self empty feature and bagless holder is great.

Awesome vacuum robot. The storage holds plenty of dust and dirt. We have a German shepherd that sheds a lot and it picks up all the hair just fine on the tile and carpet flooring.

This robot vacuum we were pleased with, initially. However, upon use after use it failed to properly map our home. It said that it could take up to 10 runs to do that and after 5 we had a map, 5 more a less detailed map, 5 more a more detailed map, 5 more a less detailed map and no more map refinements anymore. While it does clean row by row when it is doing a room it did not learn the rooms well at all. I ended up taking this back to BestBuy and purchasing https://www.bestbuy.com/site/irobot-roomba-i7-wi-fi-connected-robot-vacuum-with-automatic-dirt-disposal-charcoal/6280529.p?skuId=6280529 The big difference, one training run my home was mapped almost entirely, ONE training run. The rooms that this had mapped that the Shark did map were in much greater detail. This Shark may work for a tiny home but we have about 3,000 sq ft on the main floor alone just the open communal areas. The Shark failed miserably. Spend the extra $100 dollars and get the https://www.bestbuy.com/site/irobot-roomba-i7-wi-fi-connected-robot-vacuum-with-automatic-dirt-disposal-charcoal/6280529.p?skuId=6280529

The vacuum is actually very neat. However, there are several drawbacks. One drawback, if you leave anything on the floor by accident, a hair tie, a child's sock, a bobby pin, it will cause the vacuum to stop. We've had to reset the maps three times because it maps the house incorrectly. The app is very slow, and not very good at delivering notifications in a timely manner. I had heard the vacuum stop and several minutes later around fifteen or so, I received notification as to why. The vacuum canister had to be emptied out manually a couple of times due to the amount of dog hair on the carpet (Which it's a short-haired dog, and she sheds a lot). Our house is not very big a little over 2K square foot and it took the vacuum two runs just to completely vacuum the house. Sometimes the sensors are as sensitive as they should be and the vacuum will attempt to climb something a slope to it. Now on the bright side, when the vacuum works as it should, it does a great job and definitely cleans the floor very well. For $200 I would buy this vacuum, but not for $500. If all the glitches in the app as well as with the vacuum were fixed then maybe.

The shark is a great vacuum. It picks up most to all my pets hair. It covers all areas of the house. I really like that u can choose which room you want it to vacuum if you don’t need it to vacuum the whole house.

I received this vacuum at no cost for an honest review. What I like best: 1.) It has a canister at the base station that is very easy to empty without having to mess with the robot itself. This makes it greatly convenient because the canister has a handle with a button on top, which you hold over the trash can and empty it. 2.) Shark has an app through which you can control the robot and tell it to start, dock, check the status, or set a schedule. You can also see the house map, though Shark claims it takes approximately 10 times for the map to show up. The robot is supposed to get smarter as it goes, so I expect it to make smarter runs the more I use it. 3.) Besides the app, you can also pair the shark with Alexa and/or Google Assistant. I tried it and it works well, you just have to make sure you link the shark to your google or alexa account. 4.) The robot doesn't get stuck much, and it can do a 360 which allows it in and out of tight spaces. 5.) Once it docks, it automatically vacuums the robot into the canister which has a window allowing you to see how much dust and dirt are in it. 6.) It cleans well and it has different power levels to clean strongly or normal, and it also has an echo mode. What I don't like so much: 1.) Though I expect it to improve, sometimes the robot is still not as smart as I'd like it to be. When attempting to find the dock, sometimes it can get somewhat lost and hang out in the same place for a while. In these instances, I just pick it up and set it back in place manually. Not a huge deal, but I feel like the docking procedure still has some room for improvement. Recommendations for the user: I recommend that your house is very compartmentalized, place it in a very central area. That will make it much easier for the vacuum to find the dock, which is where I think the vacuum can improve most. I do recommend it, and it is a solid robot vacuum for picking up your standard small dirt.

Neat concept. Connects to voice assistant. Not good for pet hair. Goes through the house twice before redocking to empty, but doesn't pick up pet hair. I like that it empties itself and is relatively quiet, but it doesn't do a great job.

    Long hair dog beware

Do you have long haired dogs? Don’t get this. I purchased it to help clean up dog hair and my mom recommended it bc she has been using hers for months and it works great. But she has short haired dogs. The long hair just gets tangled around the brush or caught in the comb. I have to clean to vacuum more than the vacuum cleans itself. Sadly I didn’t find this out until after my return period so now I’m stuck with it. Also shark customer service is terrible, I had an issue and the lady tried to get me to buy a $100 replacement part and said there is nothing else I could do. After I hung up I messed around with the vacuum and managed to fix it by myself. They didn’t actually help me just tried to make me spend more money.

If you have a "cluttered" house, don't bother though. You will spend as much time getting stuff out of the robot's way as you would if you would have just vacuumed. Works good though.

Great product. It learns the layout of our house pretty quickly. The mapping feature allows us to assign the robot to clean individual rooms which is a really cool. We really like it!
