I rarely write reviews but this vacuum deserves praise. I had a Dyson for years so the bar was high. I couldn't afford another Dyson this year so had settled on either a Hoover or Bissell. The store attendant tried to convince me to go Dyson. When he accepted I wouldn't go there he pushed the Shark. I wasn't really interested as I had had a Shark hand held which I despised but the kid said his grandmother had this Shark model for 4 years and loved it. Not sure I believed him but it wasn't much more than the Hoover I had investigated. So glad I took the leap of faith. I would say its suction and cleaning of my immense amount of dog hair is on par (possibly better?) than the Dyson - at about half the cost. I haven't had a chance to try all the attachments but it came with several more than the Dyson which is exciting. The one criticism I have is the collection cup doesn't empty as cleanly as the Dyson's - hardly a big deal but the way it's designed you sometimes debris gets lodged between the wall of the container and an inner piece of plastic. I simply take a pencil and push it free.

This is a good vacuum for an apartment. It works well on carpet and hard wood floors. It also does a great job picking up cat fur. Emptying the canister is very easy and it doesn't take up a lot of space in the closet.

Love my Shark Navigator! Amazing suction and equally good on carpet and hard wood floor. The attachments and detachable canister make it each to do steps, small areas, and furniture. It sucks up my dog and cat hair, as well as dust and dirt better than any vacuum I have ever had. Plus it is self propelled, and this makes the job even easier.

Vacuum is quiet and does its job quickly. It is also nice looking

This vacuum is awesome, especially for varied surfaces if you have pets. Great suction as well. I used it in my car which is usually a pain to get all the pet hair off but this vacuum was great. I love that it's light and you can disconnect the unit and carry it around for hard to reach areas. Overall great purchase!

Easy to put together and immediately noticed a difference in the power and is lighter compared to my heavy Dyson.

Lot's of power in a small, relatively light-weight package. The motor is also surprisingly quiet, or perhaps I am just used to my old Dirt Devil and the shriek it made. Also, the under-appliance attachment is a cool idea that I have yet to try, but, am sure will work well considering the amount of suction this little vacuum has.

I was originally going to get one of the D brand vacuums but had been hesitant because of the price. Then I saw some reviews of this (search for the wirecutter review) and decided to give it a shot. I am not disappointed! It has great suction - I am a amazed at how much it picks up. That is probably the only minor downside - it is so good at picking up dirt that you will need to empty it just about every room, fortunately it’s easy to do. Haven’t used the lift away feature yet, just regular vacuum and the hose. I can’t see buying the D brand when this is so good, and for the price of the D brand I can get one of these for each floor of the house. Overall very happy with this purchase.

This vacuum works great and does everything it’s supposed to. I love it! So light and versatile, easy to use, easy to dump out dust after using, not too loud. I do wish the cord was a little longer and the body maybe a bit wider to get more done at a time. But totally into it!

This thing sucks in a good way. It gets all the pet hair out my carpet no problem. The only thing is the capacity but I would rather have a vacuum that picks up everything on the first go then have to go over and over the same spots. Lol

I love this vacuum cleaner. It's easy to handle and quitter than others. It's attachments are easily accessible. The see through canister lets you see whenever it needs emptied and then you can unlatch the bottom to allow dirt to escape which is very handy. Best vacuum cleaner I've owned.

Cleans very well. Excellent suction. Lift off perfect for upholstery cleaning.

I researched before buying and was looking for a good bagless vacuum that had enough power to still pick up pet hair if needed. I've been very impressed so far. The Shark has excellent power, moves easily, and has a good variety of useful attachments. For the price, I think it is an excellent value.

So much lighter and easier to use than my Dyson! It is really easy to take the canister off and vacuum the stairs. The shark also has lots of nifty attachments for reaching under appliances, etc., but nowhere to put them. I wish there was a way to attach them to the vacuum so they would be handy as you move around.

Having purchased "the cheapest one they have" for many years, I have gone through many vacuum cleaners. Moving into our house and putting in brand new carpet made me want to invest in a vacuum cleaner that was going to keep it looking new. The Shark Navigator has amazing suction and the swivel head makes it so simple to maneuver. It was simple to assemble and is small enough to tuck into our cleaning supply closet without causing clutter. The bucket is easy to clean out and I love that I can lift the hose suction and carry it with me to clean high up. My main complaint about this vacuum, which is mostly a quality of life complaint, is that it does not have an automatic cord return.

I love my Shark -Navigator Lift- away Deluxe upright vacuum. It is lightweight, easy to assemble and navigate. It cleans much better than my old hoover vac. I don't dread vacuuming with this machine because it is so easy to use. I would recommend it.
