They said it's great for pets and all floor types. I will never get another brand. My last Shark lasted over 4 years through hard use. I have 4 kids and a really hairy dog and this vacuum cleans with no problem. Only got a new because a simple locking pin that held the handle hose just mysteriously sheard off. Thank heavens I got the 5yr warranty

I love all the attachment, and it gets things up easily. I definitely prefer it on carpet vs. the hardwood floor. I use something else for that.
