Not the Shark of days gone by

Having been a long term Shark user and owner of multiple tools, I would say I was loyal to the brand. There was no decision making involved when my older (5yrs or so model) died. As in the past with my first upright Shark, it wasn't the machine, it was the hose that gave out. I went online and replaced it for this newer model. SOOOOO disappointed. First of all the upright itself is awkward and heavy. The use of the hose for attachment cleaning is even more uncomfortable to work with. And the canister is woefully lacking in capacity and the emptying is antiquated with two latches. My older model Sharks both featured a quick release button that took one hand. Why in the world would they make this more difficult by using two latches to remove it for emptying?! Then there was the actual function of the machine....I returned this upright and purchased a Dyson Stick Vac.

Nice vacuum for houses with pets

Doesn’work at all

Didnt need it for a while, when I tried to use it on medium pile carpet the entire head cannot be pushed forward because the brush spins for a moment then stops. Bogs down in the carpet and cannot be restarted without turning off and back on. Pure trash, useless. Waited too long to return plus I had thrown away all packaging anyway. Feel ripped off and I’m furious about that. We spend a LOT of money at Best Buy and this was 100% money down the drain. Definitely won’t buy Shark brand again!

The brush roll stopping could be caused by high suction on thicker carpets. Adjusting the suction control slider or ensuring the brush roll is free of debris might help improve performance. If the vacuum is still bogging down and shutting off, we’d love to troubleshoot further or discuss warranty options.
