Solid Self-Empty Robot Vacuum for Daily Cleaning

This combo has proven to be reliable and efficient in my ~1000sqft downstairs - a mix of hardwood and carpeted flooring. It successfully navigates five rooms and a single threshold without issue, handling transitions between surfaces and maneuvering around obstacles such as chair legs with consistency. Cleaning coverage is thorough, with no missed areas observed during nightly runs.
Suction performance is uniform across both hardwood and carpet, effectively collecting fine dust, pet hair, and larger debris. The self-emptying base functions well and does not require proprietary bags!! With daily use, the base bin typically requires emptying once per week, and the process is clean and straightforward.
Mapping is accurate, though scheduling functionality is limited. Users cannot schedule cleanings for individual rooms or set the order in which rooms are cleaned. Additionally, only one scheduled cleaning time per day is supported, which may be restrictive for some households. The app interface is intuitive but minimal, lacking features such as cleaning history, setting the order of rooms when cleaning, or cycle-specific coverage reports.
Connectivity has been stable; no Wi-Fi drops or app-related issues. No mechanical or software malfunctions have occurred, and performance has remained consistent.
Overall, this product offers strong value for its price point, particularly given the inclusion of a self-emptying base. It is a suitable choice for users seeking dependable, automated vacuuming without advanced customization requirements.

This is not my first robotic vacuum and I was curious as to how well this unit would work in a fully-carpeted area. When setting it up, the directions stated the base should be on a hard surface, so strike one... The area in which I was planning on using the vacuum only had carpeting (and was not adjacent to an area with a hard floor). I set up the base on the carpeting and, luckily, I have not had any issues with it. (I suspect there could be a charging issue if the base and robot do not fully engage or line up correctly. I would say the carpeting I have it on is a medium pile and it seems to work okay.)
The app is pretty intuitive and the initial setup of the robot was fairly simple. My wife is not the most techie person I know, yet she is able to use the app and the robot without any problems.
After an initial scouting trip for the robot to learn the area, it is then time to use the app to set up rooms and "no go" zones. That was fairly simple and the robot does a pretty good job of adhering to them.
As far as the vacuum itself is concerned, it seems to work really well. We have a couple cats (and a dog) and the amount of fur it pulled up from the carpet on its first trip around was more than I thought it would be (and that was on its mid-setting; there is a higher setting for the vacuum that would probably be even more effective). One thing I noticed, however, is that the battery life is somewhat short. The area the robot covers is probably around 1,500 square feet and it can clean about half of that before having to recharge its batteries. While I have not timed it from start to finish, it seems to take a couple hours for the batteries to fully recharge. In totality, with having to charge the batteries, it takes about 3 to 4 hours to fully vacuum the entire space. On the other hand, the benefit of having a robot vacuum cleaner is the ability to tell it to do its thing and then let it go.
The only other "complaint" I would have is that the vacuum is not as good as some others with object avoidance. On its maiden run, it sucked up a cat toy and wound up down for the count. On another run, it became stuck behind a piece of exercise equipment. (I am actually curious if it would recognize a mess from one of the pets and avoid it or just run over it and smear it into the carpeting. Hopefully, we never have to find that out first-hand.)
One thing I really like is the design of the collection bin. The first time I opened it, I thought it would have an open top. Turns out the collection bin is closed and you have to push a button to open the "trap door" on the bottom to dump everything into the trash. Definitely helps reduce inadvertent messes when working with the collection bin.
So... Is this unit perfect? No. It seems to lack the logic I have seen in some other units that prevents the unit from being stuck or sucking up something that will disable it. Does it work well enough for its intended purpose, though? I would say yes. The app is easy to use and intuitive enough. Setup was a breeze. The vacuum also does a pretty good job at collecting dirt and debris. Overall, 4 stars seems a reasonable rating to me.

Amazing Suction!

This is one of many robot vacuums I have tried and let me tell you, when it fires up it sounds like a real vacuum cleaner. The suction appears to be as good as my upright electric. The setup was easy and the first time running it, it seemed to be confused and bouncing around. The second time may have done the same however I was at work when it ran. Now, when I get home there are perfect lines in my carpet when I get home. I have a dog and a cat the shed a bunch and this has no problem picking up any of the hair. In fact, I’ve been running for two weeks now and have not had to empty the bin yet. Let me tell you, if you haven’t owned a robot vacuum in the past, this is a game changer. With my last robot, I had to empty the bin every single day and in many cases, had to empty it before it was finished.
This is truly the best robot vacuum I have owned.the app is very easy to use, the suction is amazing, and it does an amazing job on tile, wood, rugs, and carpet. It only got stuck once because I had a pile of cords exposed but I have cleared that up.
Overall, I highly recommend. I have tried all the other big brands over the past 10 years and this one is the winner.

Smart, no LIDAR bump, Cleans Under Furniture

I have been using the Shark Navigator Robot Vacuum all weekend now and am impressed. I'll be honest, on first impression I didn't think it had LIDAR but after a few uses, I now "get it". This uses Shark's SmartPath technology. I'll explain that in a bit - but first, in the box you get the Shark Navigator, the self cleaning base, and the sweeper brush you need to attach. Setup was fast, downlolad the Shark Clean app, sign in or up, and start pairing. If you already have other Shark smart products (I have their oven thermometer) you can sign in with the same account.
First use of the Shark Navigator is different to other robot vacuums, it needs to explore your home first. The Navigator explores your home to build a floor plan/map. You can then personalize zones e.g. dining room and also keep it away from things (wine rack!). The family was out and I did some yard work during the explore phase. Once that's done and you add rooms, zones, you're ready to do cleaning.
I was (honestly) shocked at how well the Navigator cleans. It properly goes across the whole room, rather than the old fashion robots that just bump and swirl. The LIDAR doesn't have the top bump typical on other brands, so it was able to get under our coffee table and some other cabinets that normally would not be accessible. We have a dog, and pet hair was not a problem. Floors feel noticeably cleaner and I plan to set the Navigator to run twice a week when we're not home.
In terms of noise. The Shark Navigator is not any noisier than other robot vacuums. However, the self emptying base is loud as your Navigator empties. I would not run the Navigator over night. It would be great if you could schedule the emptying cycle e.g. clean overnight but only empty the unit itself at 9am. This is what is holding it back from 5 stars. Shark - if you read this, I think you could fix this with a software update :-)
FYI, the Shark Navigator integrates with Google Home and Alexa, so you can send it on its way with your voice. Nothing feels cooler than walking out of the home and asking your Shark to clean your home. PS. You can name the Shark Navigator whatever you want, I like Shark as it's kind of fun to send your Shark out to clean your home :-)

Shark attack--On dirt!

This Shark Navigator robot vacuum was needed to replace an aging competitor robot vacuum. It's extremely easy to set up. I had my technologically lacking partner set it up to see how easy it is. After downloading the app and reading the instructions setup was a breeze. Be sure to charge it, then let it map your house (or areas you want cleaned. The app is strait forward and intuitive. After naming the robot (Clean Latifah..lol) and letting it map the house it was ready to go.
As a test, I used a regular upright vacuum in our living room first. Then let Clean Latifah run. Suction power is better than expected as it did pick up some dirt out of our living room.
Letting it do a whole house clean, the robot did stop about 3/4 the way to return to base to empty. We were impressed with how much dirt it picked up. It shows how much the competitor left behind.
We have it set to auto run when we aren't home so the house is always clean. This Shark robot vac seamlessly transitions from carpet to bare floor and back. No hangups on transitions or thresholds.
With the app, you can also set it to spot clean a room or rooms anytime you want some extra cleaning done.
The self empty feature is nice, leaving just a bucket to be emptied periodically.
We like it and would definitely recommed this one for sure!

Clean Floors The Easy Way!

The Shark Navigator Robot Vacuum is an amazing option to have clean floors the easy way! Unboxing and setup was an absolute breeze, within 20 minutes I had everything setup and configured and was ready to go! The app is amazing, and works great on my iPhone, I love the ease of use! Mapping my home was very automated and easy, and now I can rely on clean floors all the time without having to do it myself! Just a simple task of ensuring the waste bin stays empty has really been my only maintenance so far! I also love how quiet this is compared to other units I have tried in the past, while still keeping my floors pristine. I run this daily around Noon when we are normally not home, but even on the weekends it is not a nuisance due to the quiet design! Sometimes I will manually turn off certain zones when we are home and it is running which can help too. The obstacle avoidance is solid, and it never gets stuck by any of our cats toys or things our kids may leave laying around in the floor which is super nice. Overall I am in love with this robot vacuum, and I am very impressed with the value for such an amazing price!

Great RoboVac! Even better with it's Self-Empty base!
This is not my first expereince with Shark. Not just vaccum's, but their other project lines as well. Every Shark product I have ever used, tested, reviewed, integrated into my life, has been great. And the previous Shark RoboVac lasted us well over 7 years...
Fast Forward 7 years, and the technology in Shark's vacuum's has expanded exponentially. Our first Shark RoboVac, was a basic Robo, very powerful, and efficient, but had very little "smart technology". It was great for our home at the time that had a grid-like layout.
This unit, is by orders of magnitude, so much "smarter". Especially when it come to mapping and memory. We have a fairly complex first floor, East wing lay out. Every other RoboVac we have tried has gotten "confused", and easily failed hitting every area, every time. This Vac, took a handful af tours, and it each time, it learned more and more. Great intellegence
Setup was pretty easy. Download the app, connect ti your WiFi netowrk, and you are good to go.
Power of the vac was great. Use was simple.
The ony small area of improvement? This is awsome for single-terrain homes, but add in throw-rugs, and it gets a little caught up sometimes.
End of the day, if you have the need, this is a great unit.

Shark keeps getting better with ever generation of their robotic vacuums. Gone are the days where robotic vacuums aimlessly travel around bumping into things and randomly change direction. This latest version has advanced mapping functionality with Lidar navigation. Basically, it utilizes a laser to map its surroundings and keeps track of where it is currently at and the locations that have already been cleaned. You can use it stand-alone, but the optional mobile app adds very useful features.
Setup is easy and it is pretty much ready to go out of the box after the initial charging. It easily connects through Wi-Fi with the mobile app. It will automatically check for updates and install the latest firmware. On the first use, it will run a mapping configuration and save it to the app. It works great and for example, if a door is closed when it runs its mapping, it will avoid that room even when the door is open since it is not mapped. It does a great job of avoiding obstacles and getting all areas in an efficient manner. You can set it automatically it's suction to the condition of the carpet. It effortlessly returns to the base every so often to empty the dust bin and restarts its routine. The app shows all the status of the vacuum such as when it's time to replace the clean the sensors, replace the roller, filter, etc. The dust bags are easy to get to and swap out. They are small, but my experience with Shark's previous versions are they last a long time due to the way it compacts the contents when forcefully emptying the vacuum.
Shark is a great value for a quality robotic vacuum that can completely replace your manual vacuum. Replacement parts, bags, etc. are easy to replace and very economically priced.

As an owner of several robot vacuums over the years of various brands, I have to say this is one of my favorites. The mapping it does is very accurate and is easily seen on the SharkClean app, which will also show you stats like cleaned area and runtime. It will also give you a history report on all previous cleaning runs. The robot itself is the quietest robot vacuum I have ever had. I can even watch TV in the same room with it operating without having to turn up the volume much at all. The last robot vacuum I had would get stuck on small little chair leg rails and other things that I would have thought should not be a problem. Then I would have to get it unstuck and recharge it and the process would take forever. Not this one. It has no problem maneuvering over such things and also does a good job of avoiding obstacles that are in the way. It cleans my upstairs area of 811 sq. ft. in a time of 127 minutes on normal clean setting without having to recharge. I think this time may actually get better the more runs it makes. It does take several hours to recharge once the battery gets low, but so do all of the rest of them. You can set up boundaries in the app or set up to clean spot areas if needed. I love the self emptying feature, too. Much better than having to clean out the dust bin after every run. I definitely recommend this robot if you are not looking for a mopping feature.

Great Job Except On Corners

Setup was probably the easiest I've ever experienced with this type of robot. Just download the app, follow the instructions (mostly clicking and confirming choices), enter your Wi-Fi password, and give it a name (optional, but fun).
First, the bad news. It has a bit of a corner phobia, so you might need to clean those yourself. It also tends to bump into small items, and the worst part is that it doesn't avoid cables on the floor, which can sometimes lead to a tangled mess. To be fair, previous similar robots had the same problem, even the high-end ones. However, more modern, high-end, and less budget-friendly models have much better sensors and can recognize objects to avoid them. But hey, this is an entry-level model, and even with those flaws, it's still good value.
What I liked was that it cleaned well in the areas it could reach and even went back to some spots where it hadn't done a great job at first. Plus, it's much quieter than any vacuum cleaner I've ever used.
Of course, the fact that it empties itself is also a big plus. Another perk is that it requires no bags, which I like, although it means you'll have to clean the filter often. Models with bags don't require that; you just throw the bag away, although there are disadvantages to that approach as well. So, I consider it neither a pro nor a con.
Overall, I liked its performance and budget-friendliness. However, if you can afford it, Shark has better models that can recognize their environment and do an even better job than this one.

This is the third robot vacuum I've had any experience. As far as features go this unit sits right in the middle of my other two vacuums, one that offers mopping and self-emptying, and the other that requires manual emptying and docks only for charging. From an ease of use and setup aspect, the Shark Navigator easily takes first place.
App setup was straightforward and went smoothly. The auto-mapping function was very accurate and designating areas on the map to section off areas is easy. I really like how it gives you a summary after every job with the time taken and square footage covered.
The vacuum also does a great job picking debris, marginally better than the more expensive unit I have even, likely because it can house a more powerful motor instead of offering a mopping feature. I also like that the base station bin is bagless, less replacement items to keep on hand.
Unlike the other units I've tried the Shark is very good at traversing uneven flooring. It can even climb up onto a 2 inch thick area rug in my livingroom without issue.

Unboxing was a breeze. Setup was easily completed. Charged the unit overnight. Mapping the entire house took a couple of hours with a lot of edits. This was necessary to allow for one room cleaning. This feature is included in the application, just a download away from your favorite app store. The object avoidance works alright, some of the dog toys were just pushed along. For the most part it went around bigger items. The brushes worked like a charm with said dog extra fur she leaves around the house. This hair did not get wrapped up in the roller brushes. With the app setting a schedule and letting it run as requested or just launch a new cleanup with a push of the button or a command to Alexa or Hey Google. Unlike most of the other Robot Vacuums I have owned, this model seems to have a better cleaning path, it goes back and forth with a slight overlap not just wandering around. It also did not clean the room then come back a few minutes later and redo the same room. However, like most of the self-dumping robot vacuums I have owned, the emptying of the robot into the base station is still louder than I would like.

A nice robot vacuum for a smaller space

This is a nice robot vacuum for, particularly for a smaller space, but there may be better options at this price point. On sale, it’s a great option.
Starting with unboxing, the Shark Navigator is tightly packed, resulting in reduced waste. The internal boxes must be removed in a specific order, which is well-labeled. Once out, each component is readily labeled with stickers and QR codes telling you about features, where to get help, and how to download the app.
It’s a small thing, perhaps, but I really appreciate the dark blue color. My other six robot vacuums are all variations of black and silver. This one looks subtly different and warmer in the space. Added to the slimmer design, the Navigator slips next to a bookcase with visual simplicity.
Once set up, the Navigator needs to be connected to your WiFi network. Like most home automation devices, it requires a 2.4GHz connection. The initial pairing with the network is simple enough, and the app guides you through the process. After what the app called a successful setup, I had issues getting it to reconnect to the app for cleaning. This and my most recent robot both showed “disconnected.” It turned out that the setup process had not been successful, and the app showed my new vacuum, my previous vacuum, and a generic vacuum – with the generic one being the one I’d just added and the new one being a zombie. It only took a few minutes to correct, but there’s really no reason for this to happen.
Once corrected, the Navigator insists on creating a map of the environment. It’s important to have the base in the location where you intend to leave it, otherwise you will have to remap the floor. The app can only handle one map, so if you have robot in separate homes, you’ll have to create different accounts for each location. Once created, you can verify the map, label the rooms, and create “no-go” zones for areas to avoid. The app also allows you to designate quiet times, when the Navigator will not operate unless you override it.
The Navigator has three run modes; eco, normal, and max. As you would expect, each has different suction and noise levels. I’ve been running mine in normal mode, and it generally works well. The robot gets reasonably close to the wall, and tries to clean the edges before moving on to the rest of the room. It was great at picking up dirt, including fine particles, as well as pet hair. It’s good at avoiding large, stationary objects like chairs, but no so good at avoiding non-stationary objects, like dogs, or small objects, like power cords. More than once it’s tried to climb over, rather than avoid, a thicker power cable and become stuck. It also has a limited battery life. Cleaning a roughly 700 SF floor seemed to drain the battery. It will resume cleaning after it recharges, but this takes about three hours. If you have a larger space, you might look at alternatives.
For the right space and at the right price, this is an excellent robot vacuum. Just be aware of the limitations before you decide on the model that’s right for your environment.
