Customers are saying

Customers are positive about the Vertex Cordless Stick Vacuum's powerful suction, long battery life, ease of use, and lightweight design, with many praising its performance on various floor types. However, some customers expressed concerns regarding the vacuum's noise level and the price point. A few also mentioned challenges related to cleaning the dust bin and the limited number of included attachments. Overall, the positive feedback on key features like suction and ease of use outweighs the negative comments.

This does not suck as much as it should for the price. Very lightweight which is great but doesn’t have as much power as it should for that price tag.

I love Shark vacuums, especially their cordless wand vacuums. The Shark Vertex DuoClean is no exception. It is a fantastic vacuum that has enough power to vacuum a 2400 square foot house twice over on a single charge. It is supposed to be able to last 60 minutes on a single charge, but I haven't had to use it for nearly that long to see. It does go strong for at least 30 minutes with no difference in power. Its ability to bend in the middle so that it can go under things like couches and beds is great. It makes vacuuming the whole house a snap, and I don't have to move most furniture. The attachments are also great, especially when using it in handheld mode, or using the wand to vacuum high-up corners, chandeliers, and other light fixtures, etc. The only downside as compared to some other similar Shark vacuums is that this only comes with one battery, but so far, that isn't an issue, as it lasts so long on the single battery.

I was suprised that after few uses, the sound started getting way too loud. I will change it to another one. Maybe I was unlucky, but it still is doing its job.

This is a good and powerful vacuum cleaner. The reason that I am giving 3 stars to it is the weight of it. It is heavy and hard to clean stairs with it.

This shark vacuum fits in with the upright stick vacuums, this one however has a little bend that allows you to reach under side tables and tables alike without needing to bend so much yourself. One thing to not with the bend is that you're going to want to store this folded, this upright has a fairly decent sized canister that makes it top heavy, you can't really let this stand upright as it will likely topple. If you need to stop momentarily while vacuuming you will need to set it up against something or lay it down. On rugs, this vacuum seems to do daily well, I think it's okay with my current laminate flooring but could be better on its base speed. It does have a sliding power switch at the top of the handle where you would select if carpet or hardwood, plus a little pull trigger style turbo switch to kick this thing into overdrive. I definitely like to use the vacuum in this high power mode. The larger canister is nice, I've had used this for cleaning up the kids room while rearranging the furniture and drilling some hole to mount things on the wall, and did not have to empty the canister during this whole project, so it can definitely do a bit of cleaning before you have to hit the trash bin. Hand held is awesome on this thing also, I can see the canister being a little awkward for some at a reach, but it's not that bad. The fins definitely stay clean, I've had my previous stick vacuum stall up because of my Huskys fur, but haven't noticed any sort of collection going on with these power fins, time will tell. Overall great upright, I think my main gripe is just the default power, some sort of lock for the higher power would be nice, I would leave that setting on all the time! I'm vacuuming, so noise level doesn't bother me (which I don't feel this is that loud either way). Plus making this a little more stable in an upright position, have to be sure the kids sitit against the while so it doesn't fall, I don't know how it does in a drop test and I'm not looking to find out.

I was so excited to finally get my vacuum but so disappointed when I did. After charging the battery overnight, I was very surprised that it only lasted 20 minutes. I charged it again for 24 hours it still only lasted 20 mins. The company also says that hair doesn't tangle but that is not true. The hair gets so tangeled, I had to use sizzors to cut it out. So disappointed.

I have only owned traditional plug-in vacuums up until this point. The setup of this new Shark cordless was straightforward and quick. Everything clicked into place as it should, and it came with a couple attachments. I love how the vacuum folds in half to make storage easier, and it stands up without falling over. I was worried that a cordless vacuum wouldn't have enough suction for my living room carpet, but so far it has done a great job. The dust cup is on the small side, but with it being cordless and light, it's not inconvenient to empty it more often. The included charger topped off the battery perfectly, though with it being a high capacity battery pack, it's definitely not as quick as charging a headset or cellphone. Overall I have been very impressed with this convenient cordless vacuum, and look forward to using it a lot more often for quick carpet touchups.

The Shark Vertex Duoclean sucks in a good way. The unit itself is user friendly and is balanced pretty well. I like the powerhead LED lights and the wheels at the rear of the unit. The powerhead does make a distinct sound, almost like something is caught but it is the powerfins slapping. The roller brush at the front of the powerhead makes this unit especially good at cleaning bare floors, it doesn't throw the dirt around. On carpet using the power boost it performs well and actually picked up dirt over freshly vacuumed carpet. The power boost will deplete the battery quickly but it does last long enough for me to complete my 20 x 25 living room including base boards and misc. areas. The one complaint I have is there is not on-board storage for the tools. I have to store this in a pantry area out of the way but close to a electric outlet. If I need a tool I either have to carry all of them with me or run back and get it. Seems like there should have been some on board storage for at least a couple of tools. All in all this is a solid vacuum but there are other choices with some better features.

This is my first cordless vacuum and love it. I can quickly vacuum mess up without worrying about cords. Vacuum is not as loud as some say. It's a vacuum. I have used many that are louder. Easy to empty bin. Power is good even without using the turbo trigger. Stores in a small space by bending over. At this price though there are other vacuums that can get the job done. Price is just for portability.

This vacuum does not do what a vacuum should. You need to hold the trigger for an "extra boost" the entire time to get even a decent clean. You need to empty the canister more times than necessary. The battery doesn't last long at all. And here's the kicker... the battery/handle/ trigger (which is made out of plastic and rubber mind you) has actually SHOCKED me more than once and multiple times during each use as well.

I love this vacuum! To be clear I didn’t buy it for deep cleaning carpets, I have a high end, heavy duty upright for that.. I bought this vacuum to conveniently clean dirt and dog hair from the floor daily and quickly. Great on hardwoods, super smooth and no dirt or fur left behind! The headlights are a great feature, it’s very flexible and easy to maneuver.. There are two settings one for carpets and hardwoods I don’t think either are exceptionally loud especially compared to my upright. I also found that it worked well on my rugs and carpet but if your primary flooring is bare would absolutely recommend for what it is and the price I don’t feel it can be beat!

Worst purchase ever from Best Buy. This vacuum about halfway picks up dust and crumbs from a bare floor. Barely works on a carpeted floor. I bought Shark vacuums before and loved them. The Vertex is going in the garbage. Unfortunately i missed Best Buy's return window by 2 days.

I do not like this vacuum it seems to be able to only work in one direction and if you try to pull it back toward you it sticks and pulls your carpet, it has pulled trends from my carpet which was fairly expensive, I would not recommend this product.
