This is my first shark vacuum and As soon as I turned the vacuum on, I immediately wanted to return it. It cleans great without a doubt don’t get me wrong, everything works smoothly, the folding wand is fantastic especially when storing. I love the LED lights on the cleaner head, the battery lasts decent, the quality is pretty much like a dyson all cheap plastic, but the noise...when I say it’s loud, it’s REALLY LOUD, like turbo jet loud. I have the dyson v11 torque drive and it’s quieter than this vacuum, Like 40% quieter even when in boost mode on the dyson. Sometimes I’ll vacuum at night because my work schedule is so busy and with the dyson I can do it peacefully because it’s not really loud, but with the shark I’m afraid to even do that because it’s so loud and I don’t want to wake my neighbors up. Still debating if I should keep it or not, but we’ll see.

The Shark Vertex cordless is a dream come true! That is, if you get excited about these kind of things. What I can say is I've never found the need to review any other vacuum. I've owned several brands and types over the years but never really found one that was a perfect fit for me. They've all been too big for some jobs, too small for some jobs or just underwhelming in general. This thing though, is amazingly perfect. It's a new product so I can't yet speak for longevity, but if it's like my corded Shark Navigator it'll be a super reliable appliance. The Navigator has been great but I like this better! The main reason being, I'm convinced it's just as if not more powerful, takes up a much smaller footprint in my house, it's super portable (i.e. finish up the floors and everything in between in the house, then head out and vacuum the car.), it's quiet, and the battery lasts plenty long. Roughly 30-45 minutes of power so far depending on what I'm doing and what power setting I need. The battery charging can be done by either removing the battery from the vacuum or plugging it in while it's still on the vacuum. It takes approximately 2-2.5 hours to charge after it's been completely used up. I noticed that even though it is a top heavy machine, it feels nice in the hand and doesn't wear out the arm during prolonged use. The wheels are rubber and feel super solid. They glide across both carpeted and hard floors with ease and they make zero noise! The attachments work great and I'm impressed that I have the ability to use them for almost any job. I've been critiquing everything about this thing, and honestly so far I have found zero cons. I'll update though if anything comes up. Overall I've found myself completely satisfied with this thing, it looks, feels, sounds and works perfectly! I can't compliment Shark enough for the thought they put into designing this. They really had the user in mind! I'll recommend this vacuum to everyone I know that's in the market.

Love this stand alone stick vacuum. Easy to use. Battery last more than the specified on Specs section. Light useful. You need to use your hand to remove hairs around the mini filter inside the canister.

I purchased a Dyson and had to return it because the trigger to operate it requires me to hold it the whole time and my finger got really tweaked. I exchanged it for this and was happy with the trade. This vacuum has powerful suction, an easy on-off switch, and an easy to empty tank. It also has a light which is really helpful for seeing debris on the floor. I highly recommend!

This stick vacuum cleaner is a little below average. There is nothing special or unique to it to make it stand out amongst others. It really comes up short when compared to the Dyson v11 which is what I previously owned prior to it breaking on us. The suction power of the Shark is below average in my opinion unless you run it in turbo mode constantly. The charge time takes quite a while and the run-time is about 20 minutes with heavy use of the turbo mode. The brush on this model is very underwhelming when vacuuming the carpet. If you have only hardwood/tile floors then the brush is probably sufficient, but due to the poor suction quality (when not using turbo) you have to make multiple passes. The side suction is also non-existent and backwards suction is missed about 90% of the time as well. It is almost entirely impossible to clean the canister with a wipe when it gets really grungy and the same goes to the roller brush cleaning head as well.
