Very powerful, and very modular. It's weight is well balanced by the sheer suction power it produces and it has made a significant difference in the cleanliness and air quality of my home. It was easy to set up, is easy to clean, and is easy to maintain. Overall, it is an awesome vacuum that I would recommend and buy again.

This is the second shark product that I have purchased and they both are great products. The first one that I bought was about 8 years ago and it was a vacuum but the hose broke. I bought this one and then I ended up calling shark to get a replacement hose and they sent to it me so I am now using my old vacuum for my garage and cars. I would definitely recommend to buy a shark vacuum.

By far my favorite Shark vacuum I’ve ever had. Heavy duty, great suction especially if you have pets. Can’t wait to keep using it and see how powerful it is. I was considering buying a Dyson but this vacuum definitely caught my attention and will have me returning to Shark in the future. So many great tools and ways to use it. Very versatile and worth the price point.

Works great. love that you can separate it several ways to make getting in to spaces easier. Very powerful and pulled out way more pet hair from carpet then my previous vacuum. Even makes it feel better to walk on bare foot.

LOVE it! Other reviews warned about the heaviness... but it's really not that bad. It's not lightweight - heard. It does a heavy duty job and holds so much more than my old vacuum that I had to empty like 2 times doing one room because we have pets. THIS one allows me to do 2 rooms. So happy with it. Easy to do the stairs with the canister detachment too.

Let me start out by saying I love Shark Vacuums. This is the third one I have owned from Shark. The biggest con I would say is the price, but you truly get what you pay for. This vacuum has very good suction, comes apart so you can vacuum the steps easier and looks great. It also comes with a great warranty and great customer service! I would highly recommend!

This Shark vacuum cleaner is a powerhouse, outperforming my Dyson cordless at a fraction of the cost. After my Dyson V11’s trigger broke and countless arguments with Dysons' awful customer care team about it (the break was a known Dyson issue frequently reported in forums and not something I had done), I switched to a corded upright and chose Shark--committing to never going back to Dyson again. I had a similar model in the UK, but this US version is larger and more powerful, with a bigger dust bin. The color is appealing, the rollers prevent hair wrap, and it cleans well. My only complaint is the somewhat flimsy build quality compared to Dyson’s materials (though it is ironic I say this given that my previous Shark had never broken, and the Dyson is known to malfunction and break frequently). Overall, it’s a reliable vacuum with plenty of configuration options (lift-away, fully upright, just hose cleaning etc...), this vacuum is perfect for keeping dust at bay.

STRONG suction. A little bit on the heavy side and will pull you along when vacuuming with it canister style. The hose could be a lot longer too. And I've found it's easier to have the hose going around you when I'm using it like a canister vacuum, otherwise I trip over the hose. Overall though it's a GREAT DESIGN. The rollers are my favorite. Don't get hair wrapped around on it.

This is such an improvement over our last Shark (which was a very good vacuum). The pet hair self-cleaning rollers are a godsend. This is a very powerful vacuum so it takes a bit more arm strength to control but, it does a great job. We have a lot of rugs, two cats and a long hair German shepherd so our average weekly cleaning usually fills up the bin twice. It still does but, it has cut our vacuuming time in half. One note: When assembling the unit be certain to push the main hose into the body until it clicks. It's an electrical connection and unless it's locked in, the vacuum won't run or will turn off randomly. Also, when locking the hose to the body, be careful not to pinch your fingers on the new locking device. It's much better than the old lock but can pinch a finger.

    This Vacuum Sucks

This vacuum seems much like the old shark rotaor that it repcaed which is a good thing. It feels a tad bit heavier but I could be getting old. The control are on the handle which is the proper spot for them. The duo clean is new to me but does a superior job especially on hardwood.

Power plus short hose = wrestling match.

Great machine but… yes, hair gets wrappled/clogged so you need to take out the roll at least monthly (if you hardly vacuum, like me) to cut the dog hair out. But otherwise, it’s really good. One caveat - I have a bunch of accessories for things like dusting, and under appliances, but the suction on this is SO STRONG, even with the air vent open, that it sucks down on the machines hose and forces it to shorten. So if you’re trying to dust up high or be careful, good luck. You’ll have to keep all 8 of your hands on the machine to stabilize it at the same time you’re trying to reach up, say, to dust on top of a hutch, otherwise the machine constantly falls over. And it feels like you’re wrestling a live thing, because of how powerful it is, when you’re trying to use the hose (for something that really should just be simple). The hose should be at LEAST a foot longer, and more stabilized so it doesn’t pull/shorten under the vacuum pressure. Also SharkClean doesn’t sell any extra lengths of hose for this, so the one hand on accessory, other hand on machine wrestling match is never-ending. If you just want to push vacuum around the house, you should be fine. Otherwise, it’s quite frustrating.

I have a small cleaning business and use SHARK vacuums daily. I love these vaccums and currently in love with vertex- no hair tangled mess, large dirt cup, never ever loses suction( even when dirt cup is full), has “headlights”, use with ease , grrat for households with kids, animals, and alot of traffic!!

I purchased this machine 12/5/2023 and love it (fortunately it was a $100 less than it is now plus I had certificates to apply). I was a decades long, faithful Sears Kenmore canister vacuum user, but this is now my third Shark (the other 2 were the exact same model and still run, but they needed parts and Shark makes that difficult to impossible, so there ya go). Compared to my original one this one has stronger suction, sometimes too strong (keep that cord clear!) as it seems to have a mind of its own and wants to propel forward when I want it to park! But it works well, is not heavy or bulky and I am overall satisfied with it. But EVERY TIME I use the crevice tool, which is just about every time I vacuum, I’m irritated that there is no headlight on the hose when you separate it from the base, like my last one(s) had! I think if a machine costs $350, now $450, at least THAT whistle should be included (realized later it was without). It’s still a powerful machine, but unfortunately you get what you pay for no more.

The Shark Vertex Duoclean is an extremely well built vacuum cleaning system. It is very highly engineered. It cleans beautifully and precisely! The carpet beater almost steers itself. My only complaint is that when the dirt container is on the main unit the vacuum is very hard for me to maneuver. I am an older person and my wrists are not as strong as they used to be so it is a real effort to guide the unit across my carpets. It is much easier to maneuver when I carry the dirt container in one hand while vacuuming the floor and carpet with the other hand. I think I would have been happier if I had purchased a canister model so that I wouldn't have to carry something in my other hand while vacuuming. However, I will continue to use it.

Let me start this off by saying that we have seven cats, one dog, and two humans in our house. When it comes to couches, I'm sure everyone here can deduce that vacuuming is a regular occurrence. We only have hard floors in our home, so I was simply using our shop vac on our couches. However, when we saw this vacuum on sale and saw its awesome reviews, we decided it was time to get a vacuum designated for indoor use. All ten beings in our house agree it was one of our best purchases! This vacuum works far better on our couches than our shop vac did! Vacuuming the couches (and steaming them afterward with our new steamer) has strangely become one of my favorite chores. Using the vacuum hose can be a little clunky, as it feels rather short when the vacuum cleaner is on - however, that means the powerful suction is actually doing its job! If I'm getting proper performance, that little bit of extra maneuvering I have to do is more than worth it.

Originally I purchased a competitor vacuum (Bissell) and had returned it because it did not have a lot of suction. Spent a bit more for this one instead and even though it was more than I wanted to spend I am so glad I did! I vacuumed right away after using the Bissell, and it picked up a lot more dirt! This Shark Vertex vacuum works very well, I can't believe the dirt it picks up, and it even gets burrs out of my carpet. Highly recommend!

The vacuum was easy to assemble and not as heavy as I expected. It seems to have plenty of suction, and hair has not been getting stuck around the brushroll. The cord is an ample length. The dust cup is easy to empty. I prefer a canister vacuum, but they seem to be hard to find. The previous Shark that I owned had an option for purchasing a wheeled base that you could use to convert the upright into a canister, but I cannot find one for this model. The vacuum must be modified in order to be able to sweep under the bed, sofa, etc., which I am not fond of doing. It does not have an automatic cord winder.
