A Great Replacement & Works Very Well
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this vacuum to replace my old, lightweight vacuum. I needed something with power that could easily clean a hardwood floor, as well as different types of rugs. I never owned a Shark, so I was a bit apprehensive if this would do that job. Needless, to say the first time I used the vacuum I was pleasantly surprised. Clean-up was a breeze, and the high-traffic rug that was difficult for my old vacuum to clean was clean! The instructions to set-up were simple as well. It didn't take anytime to put all the pieces together and I was up and running. The price point was very reasonable as well. One thing to keep in mind, in this this is a bit heftier as far as weight. If you're looking for something super lightweight, this vacuum my not be for you. Otherwise I recommend.

Happy with my purchase
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.FINALLY upgraded our vacuum cleaner. After several months of research and price comparison I finally decided on this shark. Love it! My only issues is, it's kinda heavy and seems to want to "go" on it's own, almost like a lawnmower that goes on it's own, so I have to hold it back. But I figure I need to work my muscles more anyways. Also, it doesn't leave vacuum lines. Weird, but I kinda like the vacuum lines. Says to me the floor was vacuumed. Other than that, I really like this vacuum.

Flat out amazed honestly
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Ordered a Hoover Maxlife Max in Jan 22. It's not a bad vacuum, but it seriously doesn't compare to this. Went over the same area rug with the Shark a day after I did with the Hoover and pulled 3x the amount of dog hair out as I did with the Hoover. Being able to use the wand without the canister attached allows me to vacuum under my bed and the stairs with so much more ease. It is light weight and nimble. It also has no issue with carpet or heights, or switching to hardwoods/bare floor. That is nice being that I have all 3 in my house. I'll leave it at this, it is as if I have never had a proper vacuum until I got this. Honestly can't say enough good things about it.

Fantastic suction. Slightly heavy.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Taking some time to get used to this over my old Shark Rotator Pet Professional that I loved until lower hose cracked. Miss the led on hand nozzle that I use a lot. No idea why Shark dropped this feature, the production savings can’t be that big and I see so many consumers comment they miss it. Definitely leaves my carpets & tile and wood cleaner than the old Shark ever did. It will suck up anything in its path! Hoping the extension handle hose stretches with use, it doesn’t have the reach my last model did, so I have to do the lift away most times I use the hand nozzle. Cup fills fast in my home with a large dog and cat and 3 ladies with long hair but no tangle and it does not seem to lessen suction. Very glad i purchased on a great sale. I’d buy a Shark every time, but I think there are comparable models to this one that I’d look at more before buying. It’s a little heavy and I need a bigger cup and longer hand wand hose. I wish it came with the angle brush piece to use with crevice tool-I have and old one rigged up on it now. Good vacuum I’m just missing the ease of use my older Shark had…disliked this for first couple of weeks because it was a workout to push and lift—used to it now and I’m liking it more now and seeing value in trade-offs for cleaner floors & no hair tangled brush roll when I’m done!

Super Vacuum
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am very pleased with my new Shark Vacuum. This is just what I was looking for to clean my hard wood floors. Instead of pushing the dust and dirt around this brush roll actually picks up everything. Before I got this vacuum, I had to sweep my floors and it seemed that no matter how much I swept the floors were still not clean. I was continually going back and sweeping again. Not anymore with this vacuum it's one and done. The suction is really good. I could tell a difference in the suction after cleaning a few times. It is very important to keep the filters clean, which is very easy. I cleaned mine with soap and water and it dries very quickly. I absolutely love the fact that I can reach under my bed and clean. This feature is something that I have never had in a vacuum. It is easy to hold the canister and operate the cleaning brushroll. The canister is a little heavy, but I knew this before buying. The release of the handle is very easy. You just push a button and pull the hose out and you can clean your baseboards, walls, furniture, and corners. Everything in this vacuum was what I was expecting. It is easy to operate. Another feature I like is that the power switch is on the handle. With this feature you have better control because the power switch and the level adjustments are at your fingertips. I am very pleased with this purchase. I would buy it again and I do recommend it to anyone who needs a good all-around vacuum. Especially someone with hard wood floors. The assembly was very quick and easy. The instructions are very simple and easy to follow.

this things sucks! (in a good way)
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Love this vacuum! My old hoover died in the middle of a move-in cleaning. I picked up the vertex and went over rooms I already did with the hoover and the vertex picked up A LOT more dirt. I feel comfortable knowing how much it sucks out of the carpet. The product itself is 5/5. Easy to maintain and operate. Not terribly loud. It almost self-propels to an extent, the thing just moves so easily. The only bad part of my purchase experience with this was Best Buy's online customer service. My local Best Buy had it in stock. I tried to price match with the South American river retailer (which would arrive 5 days later but I needed a vacuum ASAP), I spent 30 minutes on a chat for them to tell me the price match was eligible but I had to buy at full price, then submit a separate partial refund request. Ridiculously tedious. Ended up buying both and returning one to get the price I wanted.

Excellent first impressions
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So far so good. Very impressed with the suction and versatility. The design is great for getting under couches and beds, and the hand tools work very well too. Very good and getting dog hair. Minor complaints so far: It seems considerably heavier than my last upright, so consider that if you're concerned about carrying it up and down stairs. Also, it's a little annoying that it comes with three tool attachments and only two spots to put them, so you always have an extra one to stash. The exhaust port is pointed in a way that it seems to be constantly blowing papers off shelves as I get near them. I guess that's a trade-off for the power.

Great vacuum for Dog hair
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It's really good, it has great suction power and is easy to empty. If you're not curious, take a few minutes to read the manual and learn how to use it correctly. Each accessory makes my life easier, and now I don't need three vacuum cleaners. It's a bit heavy, but it handles quite well.

Powerful. Recommend
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The vaccum is very easy to maneuver, the suction is powerful and I do enjoy the cord being longer than my previous Shark. The canister is on the smaller side- I don't mind but it should be mentioned. The motorized nozzle is a helpful addition that works well.

I was looking for the best!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was looking for the best. I was sold on the hair not getting wrapped around the brush aspect. I have very long hair and it is just ridiculous cleaning hair out of past vacuums. I haven't had that problem. The vacuum is heavier than I expected. It is the prettiest vacuum that I have ever seen. I really love the "lift away" option, very useful. The long cord is great. I can visibly see the carpet looks much cleaner. There appears to be more dirt in the cup than there is, the cup is SUPER SMALL.

Overall a Great Vacuum but it is Heavy
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall, I am satisfied with the Shark Vertex DuoClean PowerFin Upright with Powered Lift-Away. I am a professional cleaner, and I've done a ton of research on vacuum cleaners. I want a Miele or Sabo canister vacuum (built to last, works well, not made in China), but this shark fits my budget, and they work well. The design of the Shark Vertex has all the features I need to clean a house efficiently and thoroughly. I've used this vacuum a couple of dozen times now, so I am getting a good feel for how it performs. I bought it during a Black Friday Sale, so I got it for about $250. It's worth this price, and I suppose I would still have paid $450 for it had I needed it when it wasn't on sale. Positive: The suction is powerful and seems to pull up debris deep in the carpet. I love the three suction options (carpet, hard floor, and high pile or area rugs). Putting the switch on the handle is very convenient. It is nice to be able to vacuum those smaller rugs that would otherwise get sucked up in the brush roll. The suction is very powerful when just using the wand, too. The powered lift-away design is awesome. It makes it so easy to do stairs or to walk around to do edges or hard-to-reach places. The Powered lift-away is a must in my profession. I can get under beds, tables, and furniture easily. I like the subtle colors. The power bush works awesome! The lights on the motor help me see in darker areas. It's very maneuverable. Negative: This vacuum is heavy. While the power button on the handle is very convenient, it is hard to push. Sharks are not built to last. If you take care of them, they might last for four years. If you use it every day like me, I wouldn't expect it to last more than a couple of years. Sharks are disposable vacuums; I would rather pay more for something that won't end up in the landfill so soon. I hope this review helps someone make a smart purchasing decision.

Buy This!
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Love this vacuum. Bought and returned 2 Shark vacuums before finding this one. Vacuumed right after vacuuming with my other Shark and picked up so much more. It lifts away so you can push the vacuum under furniture and it lifts away so you can use the hose as well. It is so powerful it almost pulls you with it. Yes expensive but in my opinion, worth it.

Wow...
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Wow, where do i begin... First off, Im a single father rasing two highly active preteen rascal boys along with rescue cats that have shown up at my door over tge years. The boys nature is to consume and destroy so there is a lot of mess along their paths of destruction and obviously there is plenty of cat hair. Ive always used Bissell or Hoover vacuums, I think Ive gone through one of each in the last 12yrs and they were the $70-90 models. The vacuums sucked up the food crumbs, dust, dirt and removed the cat hair I seen so on the surface things looked fine and I was satisfied. They did what I required of them and they fit my budget. I recently ordered some high end carpet to replace whats left of the 15yr entry level I bought when the boys were infants/toddlers. After watching the carpet wear away from cleaning and traffic I learned that the life of a carpet might be rated as such but add growing kids to the mix and 15yr becomes 8-10 if your lucky. Anyways, I knew that I needed to do my research on my quality of carpet, pad etc but I also know that how you clean your carpet and what you clean it with factors into its life, so began the vacuum research. I was diligent and thorough which was like torture cause I was fine with the low end appliances I used before but I need to protect my investment best I can. It basically came down to Dyson and Shark. Everything else wasnt even close to their level with the vacuum lineups. The warranty is what closed the deal between the two. Initially i wanted to get a cheaper model but the suction performance of this model was the elite, the ability to convert and use powered rollers was great and the powered pet hair attachment was just icing on the cake. I think i had the vacuum in my cart for like 2 days before i dropped the coin on it. As a guy i didnt care about the money but using almost 500 on a vacuum cleaner... Honestly it was the most depressing purchase ive ever made. I was not excited to have spent that much on a stupid carpet cleaner and when it came i just left the box sit like an unwanted guest in the front room. I was certain i bought the very best at my budget but i still didnt like having done so. I sulked for a day and finally opened it today... WOW!!!!! This thing is awesome! The suction is ridiculous. I knew it was rated high but dang! This thing was almost impossible to move when set to bare floor on carpet. Felt like a dog holding on to a toy hes keeping from you. Once i figured out the buttons settings and used it propely it became a well trained pup gently leading me on the walk because it knows the way and is well behaved. It felt self propelled with that duo setup. Its so smooth with the rollers and direction control from the wrist and the LED head light is like cruising around in a new car. I was like ok then...im liking this, what else can it do... So much fine cat hair that must have been ground in the old carpet and rug came out. It kooked like olf angel hair and there was a lot. I started messing with the attachments and configuration options and began to appreciate the models design and color scheme along the way. Its classy for a sweeper. The powered pet hair attachment is nuts! Its like a garage power tool. Its great. Both the powered features are. They do exactly as advertised but better. The vacuum was a great buy! Im well past satisfied. I started to get into looking for what else i could clean with it because its just that good! After i got settled down about an hr later i could feel the rug like i hadnt in years along with whatever life it could salvage out of the old carpet. What really caught me by surprise was the way i could breath and feel the air freshness. That cat hair that was compacted in the carpet and rug was really bad and i wasnt aware of it. Look, if your are coming from the cheap seats like i was and can afford this then dont hesitate because its worth it. Its hard to explain the difference its just something yiu have to feel and experience to get it if you havbt been at this price point before.

Big improvement
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We bought this vacuum to replace our previous Shark that finally lost its battle with dog hair and frequent use. This is a big improvement over our previous model, which was excellent. The roller at the front of the vacuum picks up dirt, debris, and pet hair much closer to furniture than any vacuum we’ve had in the past. It has enormous suction and feels like it’s going to pull the carpet off the floor. The only downside, if there is one, is that this vacuum is heavy. Once the rollers / brushes start up it’s easier to maneuver but until then you really feel the heft of it. Outstanding vacuum cleaner!

Upgraded from older shark navigator
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These are the best vacuums! Get it over a dyson if you have pets! The ability to release the cannister to go under furniture makes it as versatile as a cordless and the drive motor makes it super easy to clean carpet! It gets much deeper into carpet than our previous shark did and we loved that vacuum as well! It comes with a pet brush wand attachment that also has the powerfins and it does wonders!

Needed a good vacuum
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had no expectations for the Shark Vertex DuoClean Power Fin upright vacuum. Right out of the box it glides effortlessly across both carpet and hard floors, picking up dirt and debris with ease. The DuoClean technology is impressive, and the Power Fin feature really helps to deep clean my carpets. The transition between surfaces is seamless, and the vacuum's maneuverability is very easy. Overall, I'm thoroughly impressed with this vacuum's performance.

I’m OBSESSED
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. You guys!! This vacuum is incredible. First of all I’m going to start out by saying that not only is it beautiful but my jaw literally dropped when I used it for the first time, the canister was filled over over the Max line and I had vacuumed the day before with my old vacuum that was about to kick the bucket. It almost pulls itself when running and the upholstery tool is so powerful. It also has a flashlight which I loved for vacuuming under furniture or other darker areas. 10/10.
