Pros: Definitely has a powerful suction. I do like that the on/off button is on the handle. Also, the switching from carpet to bare floors is also on the handle. The canister can easily be cleaned out. I’m happy with the product, it does the job. Cons: I will say this vacuum cleaner is a bit heavier than my last one. Pricey, but it does the job. Thankfully I got on sale.

The Shark Vertex has incredible suction and picks up everything in one pass. I love the Powered Lift-Away for cleaning under furniture and the self-cleaning brushroll saves so much time. Works great on both carpet and hard floors, and the rose gold design looks sharp. Best vacuum I’ve owned — highly recommend!

I was originally looking for a vacuum stick, I needed something lightweight, good suction and that could vacuum my floors, I went on and got the shark pet plus, well it sucked! Suction was very weak, it cleaned but not worth 250 in my opinion. So I went on to exchange. I did so digging and I ran into this one, yes it’s wired but I read battery dies easily on those stick wireless ones, while I wanted lightweight I need something powerful. I have kids and I’m always cleaning so I wanted something worth my money. Got this on sale, next day went back to regular price. I LOVE LOVE LOVE. It’s not the lightest in weight…. but the suction is amazing! And it kinda just glides, and works on all floors. You can also detach the canister and use it as a stick for like tighter places. I am very pleased. I’m more traditional so I think wired is what works best for me. I can clean my entire house without needed to take a break to recharge.

This is a good vacuum with great suction and a long cord! My only issue is that it's a heavy vacuum for an every day clean. I use it once a week right before I mop the floors! I have a lighter vacuum for an every day use.

I have owned 3 Shark vacuums before this one, all of them being excellent products. This Vertex DuoClean is a true upgrade. The suction power is fantastic. I have laminate, tile and area rugs in my house. I love that with a slide of the switch on the handle, I can go from one surface to another. It sucks up cat litter, sand and fur with ease. The dual brushes help it catch everything on floor without having to repeatedly go over the same spots. To make it even better is the Power Brush attachment for getting the fur off my furniture. My favorite features are the Self Cleaning Brush Roll ( I have long hair), Lift-Away canister to vacuum under furniture, motorized Power Brush attachment ( I have 3 cats) and longer power cord than my others. I have loved all of my Shark vacuums. The sealed dust cup and ease of emptying, the nonstop suction, ease of cleaning out a blockage with the detachable components, always able to find replacement parts when needed and great reliability. I chose to replace my older model with eh Vertex because I wanted these new features, the older one still works great after 13 years. I highly recommend this vacuum!!

I can't say enough good things about this vacuum! The suction power is absolutely incredible! I did a little experiment and let my Roomba vacuum my whole house. Then I vacuumed immediately after with my new Shark - Vertex DuoClean PowerFin and I was amazed at how much more dirt, dust and dog hair came out of my carpets! It is also excellent at cleaning hard tile as well. I love how you can set the vacuum to high pile, low pile or hard floors. This was the best vacuum I've ever owned, this beats out Dyson by far!!!

The Shark Vertex replaces my 16 year old Dyson. I love the versatility and power of this vacuum. It is powerful! I also like the light on the front and I now see many areas of floor that I routinely missed. The lift away is great for cleaning in hard to reach areas and baseboards. The 3 levels of suckion works for carpets and throw rugs. And no hair wrap is great! So far I love this vacuum!

I just picked up the Shark Vertex DuoClean PowerFins, and it is honestly such a win. I was looking for something powerful, and this thing delivers—the suction is incredible and it picks up everything on both my rugs and hard floors in one go. It’s super easy to use, and I love that I don't have to constantly clear hair out of the brush roll. It feels sturdy and well-built, but it's still easy to maneuver around the house. For the price, this is a great vacuum. If you want something that actually gets the job done without spending a fortune, I highly recommend it!

Very powerful. I love how it cleans the wood floors so good and then right on to the carpet. The hairs don't wrap around the roller like other vacuum cleaners. It's easy to empty right into the trash can. You can take the canister off with the push of a button and then easily clean under the bed. Worth the money.

I decided to replaced my Dyson with a Shark. I was worried that I would be disappointed, but I’m only disappointed I didn’t switch years ago. The duo clean is phenomenal at cleaning our hard floors and carpet both. The airflow on this machine is incredible! Also the build quality of this seems better than the Dyson. There are a few things I don’t like though. 1. The hose can be hard to use for extended use. Yes, you can use lift away but when cleaning lots of above ground area I don’t want to carry the machine everywhere. 2. The bin is to small. This machine picks up tons of dirt and you’ll constantly be emptying. 3. On carpet the machine works great but it can get tiring to use as it pulls against you. With that said, the pros far out way those three cons and I would recommend this machine to anyone looking for a powerful corded vacuum.

The best! Was a little back and forth about this because of the cost. After a week I now see why. It’s so versatile to different cleaning situations. It has great suction, cleans like a champ on all kinds of surfaces and easy to move. BTW we bought this after taking back our dyson which was a pain to use the hose (even after calling their support). This is night and day different. Highly recommend!

I absolutely LOVE this vacuum! A friend suggested we buy it since we were researching new vacuums for our new home. She named all the good things about it, so why not!? When I tell you I will NEVER buy another brand of vacuum again, I mean I will NEVER do it. This is the most amazing thing I have ever used. I have hardwood and short carpet in my home and the fact that I can interchange between the 2 options while it is running is a Godsend. The suction is like nothing I have ever seen or felt before. The vacuum literally pulls itself. The bristles are really self cleaning, it is easy to empty out the “trash compartment”, the wand and other accessories are easy to use, I LOVE the fact that I just put my foot on the head and it tilts back, and it picks up so much. If I had to “complain” about anything it would be that I would love a cord that wraps up inside the vacuum with a push of a button because I’m not a fan of wrapping it myself, but that isn’t even really all that bad. Honestly, if you’re searching for something that does it all then this is for you! You won’t regret it, I know I sure don’t.

Kinda wished it was a wet/dry vac

After not being able to vacuum the carpet after moving due to only having a hard-floor vacuum, I can safely say that the heavy-carpet/rug option works to digging into the carpet and pulling up dust and debris. It also works as a hard floor vacuum, effectively making my old vacuum useless. Assembling the vacuum was easy with the quick start-up instructions and necessary to fully use the capability of the vacuum (as you're probably unplugging everything to dusting out the ceiling). Price range (at the time of purchase, it was $250) was a bit much considering that some competing brands for the same price range can be a wet/dry vac (this is only dry); but at the time of wanting an upgrade, it was a good purchase made. Most replacement parts are available in the Shark website (filters, the decorative shield, the decorative logo, etc), but some third party parts are also available in the open market for a fraction of the cost (e.g. filters). If anything, I wished it could take a bit more liquid than nothing.

Hey Best Buy - can I give this vacuum 10 stars? I originally purchased the Dyson Animal 2 but after assembling it and trying it out I had to return it. I did an exchange for this Shark and the Shark WAY outperforms the Animal 2. Why is that? 1) The vacuum is way easier to assemble 2) The parts are sturdy unlike the Dyson where the parts felt like cheap plastic 3) The suction power on the Shark is fantastic. The Dyson Animal 2 has too much suction. When vacuuming carpet the Dyson would pull the carpet up and stop the roller blades. I vacuumed a carpet with the new Shark after vacuuming the Dyson and the Shark pulled up and additional canister of dog hair and dust. 4) The Shark is PHENOMENAL at pulling up dust and dog dander - even out of sofas. 5) The front of the Shark is low enough to get under cabinet doors. 6) The Shark as 4 different ways to use the vacuum between body / canister / handle, etc. Dyson ball can't get under a bed so you need the cordless Dyson to do that. This means you need 1 Shark to 2 Dyson units. 7) Power buttons and floor adjuster are on the handle. This means no bending over to adjust the height of the vacuum. 8) The attachment that has the roller as well is fantastic on furniture. Love, love love this Shark. Very happy customer.

I am impressed with my new Shark Vertex vacuum. It's easy to manage even for someone with lower back issues. The suction is great....!! It pull a lot of dust and fur out of my carpet that i didnt realize was there. It works well with my carpet and ceramic tile floors. My money was well spent.

Very powerful vacuum , easy to put together , four clicks and your done. works great on carpet and tile. It did not have a switch to angle the handle back , you just put your foot on top of the beater area and pull back ,, next time i will read ALL the instructions.

Alltogether it's pretty hefty, but fairly easy to handle (I'm 74 yrs old) and lifted off its base pretty light. Fantastic suction! No hair wrapped around the roller. (I have a long hsired cat and a dog.) Super long cord. Extremely happy with my purchase and would highly recommend.
