It was good until it wasn't. I've had this vacuum for 2 years now and used it EVERY-SINGLE-DAY! I have two German Shedders, so it did the job until the past week, it started to short out. I wanted to preserve it (because everything is so expensive now) so I decided to take it apart. What a PITA Shark makes dismantling. Security torx scews? Seriously? Like, why though? WHY?? Most of the screws were already stripped (eye roll). When I finally did take it apart I found that it was the motor. I thought it was the belt because it smelled like burnt rubber. Well, it was burnt something. The motor had come loose and I tried to reinforce it back together but I was unable. It was already fried. I guess I expected a longer life for $320 or I would've gotten the one for $50. Also, the cord. When I would detach the cord to dust, it was short and would pull the vacuum on me all the time so you'd need to either hold it in your other hand or have someone hold it for you. Not convenient! For these reasons, I will not buy another Shark now that I need another.

Great vacuum! Easy to use on various surfaces. The canister is easy to empty and clean.

When it comes to devouring dirt on your floors/carpet this is Jaws on wheels

I bought this because I thought our other Shark vacuum was dying. Instead, we just had to thoroughly clean the filter and ultimately replace the filters on the old one. This one has worked so far, but we haven't used that incredibly much. We have several pets, and this one seems to collect the hair well.

Upgraded from Dyson ball vacuum, the shark works so much better. Especially with cleaning up after dogs

Great purchase! I only regret not getting it sooner. I have 3 dogs. A German shepherd, a huskita, and a pit bull with a lot of hair. Great at getting it all up and it has headlights to make sure it gets all the dirt. I love it!

I had a Dyson Vac that I've been using for years and was reluctant to part with it. When it became difficult to get parts, the repair shop suggested a ball design, which I didn't want. When it finally died, I bought the Shark Vertex and to my surprise, I liked it better then the Dyson. I saved some money too!

Worked great relized how worn out our other one was. Sucked up lots of dog hair and sand.

Great vacuum. This is my second shark. I wore the previous one out. This works does the job on tile floors and also thick carpet. Easy to navigate with the swivel. I like that I don't have to clean dog hair and my long hair out of the roller brush. My only complaint is I wish the power wand and hand held had lights in them like my older one. Other than that I have no complaints.

Very nice. Great at picking up chicken feathers, and dirt on both my hardwood floors and the carpet.

It's really powerful, and does the job really well. The rolling fins makes sure you capture all the small pieces of paper and fabric materials on the floor.
