We've had the vacuum for five months and it has worked pretty well for four of them. Over the past month, there has been times when it will shut off for no reason. After the last time it shut itself off, it no longer turns on. We've troubleshooted and still no luck. Oit of all the Shark vacuums we have owned, this one has been the worst.

I’ve always used sharks and what this felt like an upgrade ended being a waste of money. It works awesome at the beginning until it just burns. It’s heavier and harder to Navigate than other models. So sad to have lost out on so much money in about 60 days.

Broke after purchasing in May 2023. Barely lasted a year for such an expensive vacuum.

I purchased this vacuum on December 14, 2024 & it stopped working on March 12, 2025. While vacuuming it started turning on and off and now it won't even turn on. BEWARE you may be purchasing a defective product.

it picks up much more than the Shark Rotator it replaced. The Rotator lasted 8 years and only broke because I broke a solder point trying to replace the cord hook

Its very heavy and for me, being i am handicap (bad back and i have to walk with a cane or walker)so as much as i hate to return anything, i gotta return this, its just too heavy

It met all of our needs. It was very easy to assemble. The swivel head is nice. The only disappointment the size of the canister, it's a little small.

Horrible! Does not pick up cat hair at all. The "lift away" section falls off all of the time AND it's quite heavy. It goes all by itself, which you would thing would be a good thing. NO! My arm hurts from trying to get it to go where I want it to go. It has a mind of it's own and takes much longer to vacuum that my old Shark Navigator. DO NOT BUY THIS.

The different options for floor levels and surfaces makes more of a difference than previously thought. Caught it for a great price on sale!

It was a great a vacuum until it decided it wanted to randomly stop several times the second time I used it. Cant trust it. And the one star reviews on Amazon all say Shark customer service is terrible.

The Shark Vertex is exactly what I was looking for in a simple vacuum. Strong suction, easy to manage and maneuver, and simple.

Best vacuum cleaner I have ever had. May be a little heavy for some, but its cleaning power makes it a pleasure to use.

This vacuum is both attractive and powerful, but the power comes at the cost of noise, bulk, and weight (sorry, no such thing as a free lunch). While it does an AMAZING job of picking up dog hair, the dogs themselves don’t seem to enjoy this appliance, preferring to run away from it. The beater brush is also easy to remove for cleaning (nice touch), and the tank itself is easy to empty. The light on the front is also appreciated. Really, the only down side is that there does not appear to be any storage place on the unit itself that I could find to hold the various attachments that came with it. Yes, this unit is expensive, but it has the power to justify the cost.

Great powerful vacuum. I have a dog with long hair and this vacuum does a great job on our area rugs that trap it.

I have 2 little short-haired dogs who shed all day every day, which is probably about 70% of what I’m cleaning up. I also have a Shark Navigator I’ve used for years and really do enjoy their uncompromised suction power. When I first got this Vacuum, I did a test between my old Shark and this one to see the difference. I sectioned off 2 different parts of my room, one for each vacuum, then did a follow-up with the other vacuum on the same spot to see how much additional “stuff” was picked up. In a nutshell, the new Shark picked up slightly more than the old, but both did a good job. This is good because after 8+ years of having my Shark Navigator, it still stood its ground against a newer generation years later, proving that Shark is still a quality brand. This vacuum is a lot more versatile than my old one though and that’s where it really begins to shine. The swivel function is great for maneuvering and corners, It also includes the pet hair brush attachment like my old one and works very well. I used it on my bed where my dogs love to lounge all day and it picked up most of the visible hair. The Vacuum itself almost feels like its self-propelling, it may take some time to get used to but you can feel those brushes doing some work. The different methods for vaccuming this model offers: • Standard upright vacuum position • Hose vacuum to hit hard to reach or above ground areas. Removes hose from the top by the handle • Wand handle to reach further places. Detaches from the base along with the hose • Lift-away method. Detaches the collection container to hold with one hand and walk around more freely with hose or wand. It comes with 3 attachments: Crevice tool, Pet Power Brush, and a Brush/upholstery tool. Strangely there are only 2 spots to keep attachments on the vacuum that I have found so far, so I have to keep the 3rd somewhere else. It also claims to have a self-cleaning system for its brushes which would be great, less maintenance the better for me. The freedom of detaching the vacuum will definitely be a big help for cleaning blinds and edges where dust accumulates. Plus it comes with a 5 year warranty, can’t be it! I highly recommend this product.

Vacuum works well when it works but constantly gets clogged and has to be torn apart and cleaned

Very interesting design that proved to be very useful. This was purchased as a gift and the recipient loves it!

Unboxing and assembly was super-fast and simple. The main unit is 4 pieces that snap together easily, and I had the vacuum unboxed and powered on less than 5 minutes. All the controls are conveniently placed on the handle. You have the power on/off as well as different floor settings for carpet, hard floors and high pile or area rugs. I love how it has an effortless interchangeable design. You can keep it assembled for floor vacuuming, but with the push of one button, the canister will release and you can use it as a cannister type vacuum for stairs, furniture or hard to reach areas. You can also leave the cannister attached and just remove the main handle/hose to reach high places. My only complaint on the design is the power cord placement. It’s located on the top left side of the cannister, and just feels awkward as you vacuum, you have to always deal with cord slack in weird spots. For me though, I find that if I just loop the cord through the handle, that issue goes away for me. When vacuuming, it’s almost self-propelled going forward. It takes much less effort to push the vacuum which is nice, and with the super pivoting brushes, it has effortless turning motions in all direction, almost like a Dyson ball type. The LED lights on the front are incredibly bright, even in bright sunshine you can see debris and hair on the floor that you might otherwise not see. And because of the interchangeable design, the roller brush head of the vacuum has plenty of clearance around it, making it super easy to fully get under couches, chairs or other hard to reach areas. I do wish the brush head was slightly larger though. Suction power is awesome. We have a large house, with a Labrador who sheds all the time, so we are hard on vacuums. Compared to our other vacuums (Shark and Dyson) this one lives up to the marketing by saying it has the most suction power out there. It does. It picks up everything. I even ran it over a previously swept carpet from another vacuum and it still picked up a cannister full of dust and hair. It’s amazing. I do wish the dust cup was larger though. With this much suction, especially if you’re using this for debris and pet hair, the dust cup fills up fast, so if you’re vacuuming large rooms, prepare to empty the cup at least 2 or three times. The one feature they tout heavily on this unit is that hair will not wrap around the brushes. I found that not to be true. I vacuumed my daughters room, and even after letting the rollers spin for a while to unwrap or feed the hair off the roller, the second power fin roller was completely wrapped with her hair that we cannot get off without cutting. So that feature to me does not deliver here. Overall, I love it. It delivers on the powerful suction, which for us is the biggest feature needed in our day to day. I love the design and how easy you can go from upright to cannister vacuum. I do wish the dust cup was bigger and in our experience, hair definitely still wraps around the rollers.

Broke in 6 months. I would not recommend this vacuum. Too expensive.
