Great vacuum, you don't need a more expensive one.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is the best vacuum cleaner I have ever owned. Way better than the Dyson I had and very simple to use. Shark has taken several lessons learned over the years and incorporated them in this model. The filter is larger, flat and easy to clean. The power button is on the handle where it's needed, and the rotor brushes are designed to accumulate less debris on them while propelling larger pieces of dirt into the vacuum. All in all an excellent product. The only improvement i would ask for is a round brush. Rectangular brushes are not as versatile for getting into areas. Offer a round brush accessory and I'll buy it shark!

Hey little Shark, where have you been all my life?
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My wife and I have owned six or more upright vacuum cleaners (as well as three or four shop vacs) over the past 35 years, and none of them were in the same league as the Shark Vertex upright we purchased at Best Buy at the beginning of this month (December, 2023). They were all highly rated according to our research, and good brands such as Eureka--The Boss, Kirby, and Panasonic. None of them was as powerful, as lightweight, or as convenient as this Shark Vertex. It's lightweight, extremely well thought out, and it's the most powerful vacuum cleaner we've ever owned. It's a truly amazing piece of equipment.

The Mecca of vacuums!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This vacuum is the ideal vacuum for a house of shedding dogs, it’s powerful, easy to clean and it’s so easy to breakdown and put back together. I even break it down and use it in the car when I take the dogs on car rides. It’s is the ultimate tool for everything from hard floors, carpets and even upholstery comes with a decent amount of tools but Shark even has more to add to your collection. I have two 4 year old pit bulls and they shed every second of the day but this thing keeps up with the bulk.

Great Shark Vacuum
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have owned one Shark vacuum previous to this one and that one did not disappoint. I knew this model would have me feeling the same. For those looking for a new vacuum I’d definitely recommend a Shark. You see I used to not care about vacuuming until I purchased my own home. I used to own the cheapest vacuum I could purchase and that was it. Now having tried this Shark line of vacuums I now know the difference. It’s easy to set up out of the box anyone can do it. It has powerful suction which leads to cleaner carpets. It is really smooth and the vacuum head sits low allowing easy maneuvering under and around furniture. It comes with 3 attachments for your cleaning needs. You can detach the main unit from the base and move it as you need. Easy to empty canister that you can just place over the trash and empty with the push of a button. It has led headlights that are pretty bright that allow you to see in dark areas. Overall this vacuum is a great tool to have around the house.

Great Vacuum
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is honestly the best vacuum I've ever owned. We own 3 cats and our house is carpeted. The vacuum picks up so much fur, litter, dust, hair, and dirt! With our older, retired vacuum, my boyfriend had to take it apart at least once every 3 months to refresh it. He had to take it a part to get rid of all of the hair stuck on the brush basically. With this vacuum, we hadn't had to do it nor worry about it. It's super easy to clean and there are so many different attachments to clean different things!!

High Tech Vacuum
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This vacuum was easy to assemble and did not require any extra tools. We really enjoy the powered lift-away feature. It made vacuuming under the furniture and beds very easy. The controls to switch between high carpet and bare floor being on the handle is a nice touch. When using the handle and hose the vacuum is well balanced and did not tip over easily. The brush roll on the bare floor did an excellent job with helping to suck up small crumbs and dust. I also enjoy the LED lights on the front. To compare the suction we used our older shark model on our carpet and then ran this new more powerful shark and it was able to pick up a significant amount even after it had been previously vacuumed. We have been very happy/satisfied with our previous Shark branded vacuums and this one raises the bar BIG TIME! Highly recommend this for all surfaces and does a great job making sure to get everything on the first pass.

Stopped working, don’t buy.
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Less than two years old and the front bar stopped working making it useless for hard floors. It just started pushing things around. Tried calling shark to see if there was a warranty fix and was told it would cost almost $100 to fix. We have multiple vacuums so this was used two to three times a month. Not acceptable for a vacuum at this price point.

Great Vacuum
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased in store so doesn't show as a verified purchase. I have used Shark Vacs for a long time. We purchased this one because we are in a new house with medium dark hardwood floors and medium brown very thick carpet. We have a white long hair indoor dog and she leaves lots of hair. This vac picks it up great, no hair wrap on the rollers and is easily adjusted for different floors on the handle. Was easy to assemble, Maneuvers very well.

another hit from Shark!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Shark has been making some top notch vacuums for awhile now, and this one is no different. Easy to use on thick carpet/low carpet, and hardwood floors, the suction is great on all surfaces, and the dustbin is larger than my previous Shark vacuum was. It has a self cleaning brush roll so it shouldn't get loaded up with hair quickly, and thats a good thing in a house with dogs and women with long hair. Easy to assemble, easy to clean, the lift off feature is very nice, and the powerful LED lights make it easy to see things in darker rooms. All in all, another great vacuum from Shark, and they certainly have become a leader in vacuum technology over the last few years, and this unit is just a further refinement of their previous models. Reasonably priced versus some of the other competitors, you wont be disappointed if you choose this unit!

powerful, nimble, and versatile
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.the good - suction power - Wow - I've had a handful of other vacuums in my time but this relatively small guy (for a full size) has got some serious power. I have small children, dogs and cockatiels which daily produce their own mountain of mess, and this vacuum tackles it all with ease. Go over an area once and you're good to go, unlike some others I've used where I kind of re-vacuum the same area 2-3 times to get everything (bird seed, dog hair, Cheerios, you name it). It's a massive time saver in that regard. - non-tangling brush - If you've ever had to detangle the roller brush after vacuuming, you will be very happy to know that this essentially gets rid of that. I've not had one issue with that. Literally plug it in, vacuum, empty the bin (if it's full) and you're good to go. - light weight, maneuverability - For a full sized vacuum with the amount of power it has, it is quite nimble and easy to maneuver in tight areas. No strain at all when vacuuming larger areas. - ability to pick up larger pieces - As I mentioned before, my house can turn into a bit of disaster area if we don't maintain it. This Shark helps us immensely...large pieces of food/crumbs or debris get picked up with one pass, where the other stick vacuums (even the super powerful ones that rhyme with "Tyson") take multiple passes. - bright headlights - A nice touch for getting those areas where there's not much visibility. - feels substantial, well built - From the relatively minimal assembly to regular use, it feels well made. Only time will tell if it will last, but at this price point you feel like you're getting something solid. Construction materials feel sturdy and connections snap into place with a satisfying click. - can convert to a wand - Depending on your use case, this can be quite convenient. My daughter spilled some birdseed on the couch a few days ago, and this made clean up go much faster than I initially thought it would. Being able to grab the small roller head and quickly attach it to the handle tubing makes quick work of small spaces. the bad - kind of portable but not - I say this because it's not exactly like you have a stick vacuum but you do have some of the features of them. You can disconnect the smaller handle or the extended wand portion, which makes it super convenient as I mentioned above, but then you are still attached to the canister and power cord. You carry the canister in one hand and the wand in the other, which works...kind of. Some people won't mind it, some may. I half expected it to be sort of like a shop vac, where you can kind of drag it around while you're vacuuming with the tube portion, but if you try that with this vacuum it will fall right over. Overall, not a substantial negative, I just had to reset expectations. misc - corded - Some may be put off by the electric cord, but it's a necessary trade off for this much sheer suction power in my opinion. overall Overall, it's a fairly easy 5 stars for me. Incredibly powerful, nimble, and versatile, and the price isn't over the top like others I've seen. Definitely recommended.

It's a Beast
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Shark® Vertex DuoClean® PowerFins Upright Vacuum is an amazing full-sized upright. We previously owned a TOTL Shark Apex upright and returned it quickly as the suction performance varied for no obvious reason. That experience was quite disappointing, but it appears Shark has put some serious re-thinking into the Vertex line. It presents itself as a highly engineer machine with outstanding build quality & performance. Initial Setup Setup was quick, simple and straightforward. Assembly took all of about 5 minutes. No tools required. Performance No fancy electronic displays on this model but certainly well designed in terms of button/controls placement. We have a 9 by 12 area rug in our great room that sees a lot of traffic. We also have a dog. I won’t dis the top manufacturer of cordless, stick vacuums because for daily ‘sweeps’ across our tiled, hardwood and carpeted floors – they are amazing machines. But in reality, periodic deep cleaning is a must and stick vacuums – no matter how much suction they claim to have – can only do so much on surfaces other than solid flooring. Upon the arrival of the Shark® Vertex, we first ran over our entire short-pile area rug in the great room with our cordless stick vacuum. The ‘D’ did an admirable job of picking up what we thought was the aggregate of dust, hair and whatnot. We finished with the dust bin being about 50% full – which is typical for a weekly session. Next up, we rolled the Shark® Vertex DuoClean® into the room, set it to the middle suction setting and went to town. Amazingly, the Shark extracted quite a bit of additional dirt, dust and hair from our massive area rug. So there you have it. Draw your own conclusions. In summary, I would say, it’s a good idea to have both a light-weight stick vacuum for more daily cleaning and a Vertex to do the deeper runs a couple times a month – especially if you have a lot of carpet & area rugs throughout your home and you have pets. Certainly, if you only have the means to own a single vacuum cleaner, then the Shark® Vertex DuoClean® PowerFins Upright Vacuum is the one you want. If your home is primarily solid flooring throughout, you probably don’t need the power & performance of this machine. The Shark® Vertex Upright Vacuum comes with all the standard & necessary attachments, is easy to operate, is relatively quiet in operation and is convertible in few different ways. It goes from carpeted flooring, to hard floors to area rugs without a hitch. And it has that hair wrapping prevention design that works like a charm. A few final, side notes: The power cord is long; the hose extends just fine for 9 ft ceiling reaches and the overall design aesthetic is pleasant – with no screaming colors or racing stripes. Pros: Well-constructed, easy to assemble design Relatively quiet for its size & power with a smooth sound character in operation rather than harsh Convertible design Easy to maneuver and glides over changing floor conditions; hard surface to rugs to carpet Large collection bin – that should satisfy even the most demanding of pet lovers 5-year warranty Cons: Can’t really think on a single instance other than to say, this may be more vacuum that some would need; i.e. those with primarily all hard flooring throughout their home Without hesitation, this vacuum is highly recommended for those with demanding floors and pets

Lots of features
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. There’s a lot to like about this Shark Vertex vacuum cleaner. Out of the box, it is very pretty with rose gold accents. It was super easy to assemble. It has a somewhat small footprint, and stands up well when not in use. This vacuum has three levels of resistance, which can be controlled by a switch right under the on/ off switch on the handle. For carpet, just follow what it says in terms of carpet pile either low or high, or if you have a hard floor that you are vacuuming there’s a setting for that. When using the hose and the crevice tool or brush, you can use any of the three levels also, because if you use the hard floor level it might be too much suction. I found that if I used the middle setting it was easier to control the wand with a little less suction. This vacuum has a lot of nice features. One of my favorites, which I didn’t really think was that big a deal is the light near the brush roll. It is nice to see the area I’m working in and I see a lot of debris that I’m glad to keep sucking up with this vacuum. In my house we have one short hair cat who sheds a lot, and three females with long, dark hair, so we vacuum a lot. Another Shark signature feature is the Lift-Away feature. I have 1 - ½ sets of carpeted stairs. Looks cool, but there’s that extra half staircase that I have to vacuum. Now instead of lugging the entire vacuum up the stairs, I just carry the Lift-Away part which includes the handle and hose, plus the stair pet power brush and the crevice tool. Now I don’t have to worry about the whole vacuum cleaner falling on me anymore as I work, what a nice thing to not have to worry about! The tools included in the box are: Crevice tool, self-cleaning pet power brush (for stairs, etc.), and a rectangular shaped brush with short bristles for more delicate areas like baseboards or ceiling fan blades. The only negative I can think of is I wish this vacuum came with more tools. There are other tools you can purchase which are shown in the owner’s manual, but that probably isn't going to happen. There's also a kit that is made for vacuuming your car, which is thoughtful. When I was vacuuming my carpet, I could really feel the power of this thing, it was really sucking! Then I changed the resistance level from hard floor to low pile carpet, as I have Berber-type carpet, and that was the level it should have been at. Still doing a good job but easier to push around. Emptying the debris from the dust cup is straightforward, just the push of a button. Don’t forget to wash the filters every few months. This vacuum has a HEPA filter, which is extra nice these days. In the manual it does say that the pre-motor filters should be replaced every 2.5 years, the post-motor filter every three years. This Shark Vertex has a five year limited warranty. Registering your product is very easy, you can scan the QR code on the vacuum cleaner or just go to their website. All in all a solid choice for a versatile vacuum cleaner.
