not good...
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Buggy firmware, lagging motion processor, poor refresh rate, laughable remote, disgraceful picture. This is not how 4k is suppose to be. Save your self the trouble and get the 55" Insignia. Picture blows this one away and it's 1080p and $399.

Horrible.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We have only had this TV for eight months. It is in a bedroom where it is used only a few hours here and there. Within a very short time after purchasing this TV, the top portion would go black. A call was made to customer service who walked us through a "factory reset" that did not fix the problem. Now the whole TV backlight is out and I have spent HOURS on the phone back and forth with SHARP "customer service" who seem to just make things up as they go. After saying they sent a request to have a servicer come out, they then told me (a week later and a few phone calls of me tracking them down) that they misspelled the email they sent the service request to and it never went through. Now they promised it went through and that they spoke to the servicer on the phone who was holding an appointment for me. Great! Only then when I spoke with the servicer, they told me they do not service this model. The exact model I confirmed with SHARP numerous times. Awesome, So now two weeks of fully broken TV, I am now waiting 3-5 days for a phonecall from a servicer from a different company. Hopefully. And if the TV is even fixed, I'm stuck with this lemon when the 1-yr warranty runs out in a couple months. The incompetence of the "customer service" is the worst I have ever dealt with. Save yourself a lot of trouble and buy a more reputable brand with better assistance.

Not very happy
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Best buy was great, but i totally flubbed this purchase. I had a Aquos about 8 years old and it was very good overall. But sharps latest came with all the greatest specs, here are the problems that aren't shown in the specs. If you view the screen at an angle more than 20 degrees from dead center it is completely washed out. There is very limited access to brightness controls so if you are watching in a dark room get ready to have your eyeballs burned out. The remote is an absolute joke, 1st of all all the buttons are effectively flat so you can't feel what button is what. 2nd the buttons aren't labeled so you can't see what button is what. 3rd the buttons when clicked on, don't work very well so it's really like going back to 1975. It's an embarrassment. TV picture is clear but absolutely average at best and the Ultra capability is useless and ultimately hurts the picture overall because it is so washed out. The price seemed compelling but the picture is just not what you would expect and there are better TV's for the same cost. Panasonic for example recently purchased, was great. Don't mis-understand me, this is a 1st world problem to say the least, but I recommend that you apply your $ to another device.

Wasn't impressed
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this TV 12/2 returned it 12/3. Way too much judder, the aquomotion at 120 is deceptive. Do yourself the favor and just fork out the extra $$$. At 60Hz not even a Blu-ray did it justice. Blacks were botchy even after sitting at home and playing with the settings for like 4 hours. Took it back and got the XBR55X850C, really no comparison between the 2.

Poor Picture and Quality
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this to replace a 10 yr old 50in plasma that died. Picture was poor(colors faded) and flicked intermittently. The viewing angle was horrible. Picture from an angle was whitewashed. The Audio was extremely low. The remote was poor quality with a hearing aid battery. The smart functions of the TV were ok even though it said it came with the Facebook app but it didn't and you had no ability to download new apps. I finally decided to return it on the 15th day and got a Sony(non 4k) which blew this TV. away. I'm still trying to figure out how anyone could have left a good review on this TV.

Misleading
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.States that has apps plus more. But come to find out you can't add apps means no hulu or anything else. Only what is pre installed. This was a deal breaker for me. Samsung smart TV offers much more, TV is great but will be returning for a smarter TV.

Don't buy this tv
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Although it's a great price it's not worth it. The remote control for this tv is horrible. The remote control app is very buggy and hardly user friendly. I returned this tv and got a Sony Bravia instead which is much much better!

The worst tv and experience ever!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Soon after purchasing our tv a small green square showed up in bottom right hand corner. 4 months after purchasing the remote control quit working. Contacted sharp since there is a full 1 year warranty on both the tv and remote. Technician replaced parts in the tv but did not bring remote and the small green square tripled in size and we still did not have a working remote; he recommended a replacement tv. Sharp said they believe the issue is our cable box but when we connect another tv there is no green square but they want to send another technician and will order a remote. Contacted Sharp again about remote and big green square. A week later still have no remote control and had not heard from a technician. Contacted Sharp. No remote had been ordered but they would do it and send it out. We did finally get a replacement remote another technician came out to replace the mother board. Not only do we still have a large green square we also have a line across the top of the tv and the internet on the tv is not working. This technician also recommended a replacement tv. Sharp still says they believe its the cable box and are willing to give us a "re-certified" tv and said they will revert to Best Buys 15 day replacement policy. We bought a brand new unused tv, we did not get the warranty from Best Buy because we felt confident in the manufacturers warranty and the tv. We have had the most horrible experience with Sharp's service and they will not listen to us. We were willing to accept a replacement tv but not a re-certified tv. Now we want our money back so that we can get a reliable tv.

Not what I thought I was getting.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We purchased this television on sale and loved that we were getting a smart 4k led television at a great price. We set it up and the sound quality is terrible! You have to use external speakers to hear and we had to adjust settings to have voices come through. Only sound track and back ground noises could be heard. Next we went to set up our Hulu account and couldn't find the app.. Come to find out that even though it is advertised as having the capability and shows on the box you can not add any apps that are not installed already. If you want to watch hulu or use any other services you have to use the Web browser on the television and sign in that way. We already had thrown the box out and are now stuck with this.

So Disappointed!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We just spent over a half hour setting up this 4K TV. Sharp provided "personal set-up assistance" and we used the service to go through the initial set up process with connecting to the cable box and internet. It was nice to have a person on the phone to tell us what option to choose but once set up, we noticed the picture quality was poor. With the tech on the phone we went through the various AV modes and View modes nothing made the picture any better. The picture is worse than the picture on the 7 year old LG set we've been using. The skin tones of the people are very pale with a greenish tint even in the Dynamic mode. This set goes back tomorrow.

Poor picture quality and very cheap remote
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We purchased this TV because we currently have a Sharp Aquos model and love it but it was not 4k and did not support HDMI-CEC (aka AquosLINK). My wife complained bitterly from the moment that I set up this one, that the color was bad. In fact she said it "had no color" and looked washed out. I went into the settings and tried to adjust contrast and brightness and other things but they only changed things a very small amount and didn't really help any. The quality of the picture actually looked worse than our non-4k model! We finally returned it for a refund.

Garbage
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This TV is so awful its shocking! I bought one and the color is horrible and it blurs whenever there is fast movement on the screen. The thing I found out after is that because it upscales everything it completely blurs the image and washes out the color. Returned, Went back to 1080p. Very happy now!

Don't buy
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Just got the tv a few hours ago. Seemed like a bargain. It isn't. The color and brightness is poor. At factory settings or by fooling around with it the picture cannot be fixed. DO NOT BUY THIS TV. Now let me see if I can return it for something better.

Good TV for a few months
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This was a good TV for the first month or so till the display started "Clouding" near the bottom of the display. So far the customer service has been terrible and will not help over email and demands that you call them for any help.
