Solid product
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've had my product for about 8 months. There have only been two issues so far. 1. An entry sensor fell down middle of the night within the first 30 days and triggered and alarm. 2. The battery in my key chain remote stopped working. Everything else I have been very pleased of. Since the entry sensor fell down, I just placed it back up on the door that same night and it has not fallen down since. Good news was I truly got to experience the response time of the monitoring service. They called my cell phone less than 15 seconds after the alarm was triggered. They were very professional and made absolute sure I was okay. Then a couple months later my landlord set off my alarm because they forgot the pass code I gave them. I have a separate camera system that recorded the event and again the monitoring service called me in less than 15 seconds from the cameras detecting their motion. I appreciate the system runs off of cellular signal and has a battery back up. There have been a couple times my apartment has lost power and it was nice to know the security system was still active. I also received text messages when the power went out and when it was restored. I chose not to get a SimpliSafe camera and instead go with Arlo because Arlo is wire free and will also work when the power goes out. Also, because it serves as a seperate security system and I feel better protected knowing I have redundant protection. I HIGHLY recommend this product because of its low cost, wire free adaptability, excellent service, and speedy monitoring response.

SimpliBad product, SimpliAwful customer service
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this product because it was on sale for $100 off. I would have been twice as angry if I had paid full price. Simple installation as advertised, but there it stops. The components use double sided tape to stick to the wall. Then they promptly fall off! The components themselves are quite flimsy and toy-like. The keypad is not back lit and is almost unreadable. The alarm key pad would not stay wirelesly connected to the base station. It kept saying "out of range" even though it was within 6 feet. It took me over an hour to reach customer service. When I finally got through the siren on the unit had started ringing because I had unplugged it and I couldn't shut it off. (Remember, it was out of range.) The CSR told me how to shut off while he kept trying to sell me the monitoring service. He couldn't seem to understand that I had just taken the product out of the box and had not reached that stage yet. It seems like they don't want to know you if you haven't subscribed to their monitoring service. He was unhelpful in getting the keypad to communicate with the base. I was belittled and talked down to, and he was sarcastic because I couldn't get the units synced. I have never encountered a CSR with such a lousy attitude. I told him so and reminded him that I was the customer and he was the CSR. After playing with the thing for over an hour, I finally got the keypad communicating with the base station by removing and reinstalling the batteries. This lasted for about 30 minutes, and I had to repeat the process twice more because it kept losing contact, whereupon I finally gave up and put it back in the box. I will not ever call Simplisafe customer service again and wait on hold only to be abused, nor will I ever buy another of their products

Don't Buy IT
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I recently purchased system because my daughter just moved into an apartment and what a better system than a portable system that is cell phone monitored. Out of the box two sensors failed. I signed up for there monitoring, they took my money, 1 week later my system is still not being monitored. I spent at least 1-1/2 hours on hold waiting for someone to pick the phone up, left multiple phone messages because they never answer there phone and sent multiple emails, well they don't answer those either. I called there dispatch phone # and they transferred me to the phone # that no one answers, what a joke. Please don't waste your money its junk!

Worked Well

Horrible Customer Service

Alarm does not work in Home mode
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I opened an alarmed door one morning before turning the alarm off and realized it a few minutes later at no time did an alarm go off. I checked my dashboard and no event was created. To make matters worse calling to get help let me on hold for 20 minutes before I gave up. I emailed through the app - no response after 3 days so I called again. I got a very unhelpful and representative who admitted they don't answer the customer calls. She blamed it on the recent bad weather. I can't say if the system works in Away mode as I have not tested it real time by opening a door when alarmed. Don't waste you money on this system that does not work and has terrible support.

Terrible system with many bugs

Do not trust this system and the app. I'm a long time user of this system with multiple properties and now looking to find something more reliable since they've made no effort to improve their app.
