Added to existing system. Only issue you need to have a strong home network so cameras stop loosing connection.

We bought two of these. Love them. You have to have a really powerful wifi signal but they will work fine for security.

Only 720p and 2.4ghz WiFi which is pathetic given its 2020. But if you have the security system you don’t have much else for a choice to tie it all in together. Works great though just needs better specs for clarity and higher speed connectivity.

Setup was only through the Simplisafe app on my phone. The app generates a QR Code, sometimes the camera recognizes it and allows the setup. Other times no matter how far/close you are to camera, it doesn't recognize the QR Code. Once setup, it did work as expected for a while. Then I started getting the Camera Dropped Wifi Dropped message. I contacted SS support and followed their instructions of rebooting my modem, router, and removing camera from my system, then reinstalling. All of those attempts failed. I purchased a new camera this week (April 2020), and it worked for a few days. Then I'm getting the same BS trouble of it being dropped and dropping WiFi. The camera is located in my living room, several feet from my television, Roku, PS4 and Switch, all of which have no issues with my Wifi. I am able stream 4K without any wifi issues on my devices. It's the SS Cameras that are the issue. If the issue is upload speed, you would think the camera would automatically lower the resolution so you would still have an operating camera for security. I guess that wasn't part of the design, or fix as I'm sure I can't be the only one having this issue, especially now that I know it is happening on two different cameras.
