    Had problems with D-shaped locking mechanism on my deadbolt would not line up. Had to go buy deadbolt with flat bar locking mechanism and had no problems with that one. Lock paired nicely with SimpliSafe alarm system.

    A small installation issue was encountered because it requires that you reuse the screws that came with the original deadbolt and they were too long to work with the smart lock. Additional screws provided with the smart lock were the wrong diameter, so I had to find suitable substitutes. However once installed the smart lock worked like a charm.

    The best part about this lock is that it works with your deadbolt already. which means if you want to eliminate key access altogether, you can just remove a pin and put a block instead. But there's no need to change anything because this turns the mechanism mechanically, overriding the key hole. You can't use it by itself which may deter some people but the whole home system is very inexpensive compared to other systems.
