You have to have the security system in order to use it.

Does not work well awith our deadbolts. Sometimes it stays in engaged and is difficult to lock manually. Moves too slowly to unlock on another door.

I purchased SimpliSafe smart lock with the impression that you could lock and unlock via the app but unfortunately those functions are only available with subscription plan. Don’t waste your money!

First off, people rating this low for their lack of understanding of how the product is supposed to work is beyond dumb. This thing is so easy to install and setup. I've installed multiple kwikset smart locks, and Argus locks. This is by far the simplest lock I've dealt with. I think I spent more time updating the keypad (which is required to add the lock to devices) than I did install the lock. For unlock/lock via app and push notifications for events you need to have the interactive plan. I took it as a given since most, if not all, of their devices work this way. But you do not need to be on the interactive plan for it to do the rest of the neat tricks like; Auto lock, Monitor door open and prevent auto lock if it is, disable security system if lock is opened via a code, lock when the system is armed, unlock if the system is disarmed. Almost all of these 'smart' functions are configurable. The design is very sleek and the pinpad buttons have a great tactile feel. Only thing I wish it didn't have is the Simplisafe logo (mine is black so it stands out) for a more stealth look. But I understand why they would do it

We had to return this because it required a subscription to use it. Hence, the lower price compared to Schlage’s, et al.

I really like this lock. It was easy to install and it has great features. My only complaint is that if you unlock it using the app on your phone, you must lock it using the app. You cannot lock it manually. But I set mine to lock 30 seconds after I unlock it using the keypad so it's not so bad. So far I'm happy with it.

Love this item. I bought a house in LA and was still in SF, was able to lock and unlock using my SimpliSafe App. Great and sleek looking system. It’s almost flush to the door so it’s not bulky and you can keep your old handles which makes the look whatever you want it to be.

This lock is convenient and nice being paired with my Simplisafe alarm system. The biggest issues (multiple threads on Reddit about this issue) is that after only 3 weeks of being installed, the manual deadbolt turn does not want to release when the lock automatically locks itself. If you manually lock it, you can easily manually unlock it. If it locks automatically, you have the jiggle the turn multiple times or force it to unlock. I've recaliberated this lock multiple times and still have the same issue. Simplisafe does not like to answer questions over emails and you have to call which I've done multiple times but after 30 minute long holds I've had to hang up. Key pad and app work great with the lock and are very convenient. When you are home and want to exit, it might get a little tricky. I don't want to have to use my phone to unlock my door while I'm inside to leave.

I owned this smart lock for 2.5 years and it stopped working. Unfortunately, one of the 4 batteries from Kirkland corroded and damaged the connection. I can see the blue corrosion in the metal springs that holds the battery in place. This smart lock is not perfect. I would say mediocre. The face place that covers the batteries comes off very easily and i had my fair share of door lock jams. I will most likely get another when it goes on sale. My entire house has SimpliSafe products so i sont want to switch to a different product. This time i will buy a 3 year warranty

I have had this lock for almost three years now. It works ok, for the most part. Unfortunately, the base station will sometimes say, “side door smartlock not responding”. When this happens, I can still lock and unlock the door from the app but I have no idea whether someone attempting to open it with the alarm armed would actually do anything. I have talked to SimpliSafe about this numerous times but they never have any clue. If you have a look at their forums, you’ll see that this is not exactly an uncommon complaint. Their only comment is that maybe the distance between the base and lock is too far. There is 20 feet between the base and the lock with one indoor wall between them. I have many other sensors further away that have no issues. While it is handy to have this lock, the persistent warnings about the base not being able to communicate with the lock are definitely a concern.

Easy to install. Works great! Very convenient to have. I love this whole system.

I replaced an AT&T smart lock that had an integrated key pad to lock and unlock independently of the alarm. This pinpad can lock the door but can only disarm the system, and you have to have it set to unlock when you disarm regardless of how you disarm. So when you come in thru the garage and disarm from the app or main keypad it unlocks the unattended door, not very secure at all. If you disable that, the lock’s keypad only disarms and you have to use the app or a key. They should add an option to only unlock when disarming from the lock’s key pad.

Trash, it doesn’t work consistently. Have to keep a key just in case. DO NOT TRUST THIS LOCK.

I just installed the Smartlock. It was easy to install and easy to sync up with my current system. Works great.

I wanted to return this item to Best Buy store and was told I needed to return the entire simple safe system I purchased! I don’t understand this response and feel it is not right- can Best Buy assist here?

Useless after batteries die. Have tried everything to access the batteries on the PIN pad to no avail! Instructions seem pretty straight forward and say just to slide the front of the PIN pad down to remove and up to replace. Yeah OK... have had myself and 3 other adults attempt to do this with no luck. Called Simplisafe support and they thought i was some kind of special! "Ma'am just slide it downward to remove. " ugh! I know i can't be the only one with this issue! Customer service sent me a replacement for no charge and the first thing i did was check the new one and guess what... same issue! It's useless to have $100 lock that i can only use until the batteries go dead.
