This is a very nice Sonos speaker, but the new model that has Alexa capabilities is nicer...spend the extra $ for the newer model!

    Very buggy

Sonos released a half finished product. Very few Alexa functions work and they are not up front about this. In fact their web site says it does everything Alexa does. You have to dig or look at support documents or read the many complaints in their forums to see how few things work and the ones that do work are not reliable. I haven't decide if I will return them or not yet but I don't think i feel like being Sonos' beta tester for months to come. Sound quality is not great but adequate for the cost. Right now I can't recommend it.

    Terrible Sonos App

Great Sound, the best, but connection issues are terrible. The app has been updated, but it does not recognize My Sonos 1st Gen. Sometimes the app works, but for the most part, I spend all day trouble shooting trying to get it to play.

Bought open package for the discount. Hard to set up. Doesn't merge well w some aps like iHeart. Toll free number was helpful service. Sounds excellent. Im sure by the time they update the patch between this speaker/alexa and my phone iheart, they'll be cheaper or redundant.

Speaker is excellent, Alexa worked for 2 weeks

I love the speaker... We had an amazon echo in the kitchen area. My wife and daughter were always playing music on it when working in the kitchen. The sound wasn't great but it was convenient to set timers get a weather report etc. I was in Best Buy and looked at upgrading my echo so sound was better. This Sonos seemed like the perfect solution. It was for 2 weeks. Then I began running into issues getting Alexa to respond. I finally got it going again using the Sonos website etc. Then it quit again after a week. I have never been able to get it going again. Sonos says its at Alexa issue. Amazon says its a Sonos issue.... I may just take it back to Best Buy to let them figure out who's problem its is. Really bummed out because if Alexa worked this is a fantastic solution.

    Great sound, Garbage Alexa

I bought a refurb unit to replace my first gen alexa. The sound is really, really good, but the Alexa skills are terrible. I've the lost the ability to control 75% of my connected devices. It will recognize individual philips hue bulbs but will not recognize Alexa groups, Lifx bulbs or Lutron switches. My other alexa devices continue to work just fine, but this one is garbage. Would not buy again.

    Not Ready

If I simply wanted a speaker that sounded good, I would have bought the play 1 and honestly I wish I had. This isn’t a great sounding speaker. Yes, it is better than the echo but I wanted a smart speaker and this doesn’t cut it. I can be right beside this one and ask a question and my echo in another room will answer because the Sonos One doesn’t hear me.

After having my $2500 worth of Sonos speakers for 2 months now, I cannot express how much I hate the Sonos ecosystem, especially after having used the Amazon Alexa system. Ease of set? Ha! Customer support? Hahahahahaha!!!! The only support is on weekdays (to afford these speakers most of us have to work during those same hours). Price? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Other than the sound quality, there is absolutely nothing good to say about Sonos. The app is the absolute worst and at least weekly I am plagued with issues. Today's issue: I simply updated my wifi router keeping the same login name and password but the Sonos ecosystem cannot locate or allow me to reset. I shall not shed a tear when Sonos goes out of business.

    Do not buy Sonos

For the better part of a year Sonos has known about the problems with streaming from your phone and done nothing to rectify the issues. They sell these products and claim that you can play music straight from your phone and still take phone calls and use your phone as you normally would. This IS NOT the case. Music will constantly skip your songs while playing from your phone. There is no fix for this and Sonos will just offer excuses when you contact support. Sonos speakers are VERY EXPENSIVE and DO NOT OPERATE the way that they claim they will. Don’t get suckered into these products and flush money down the toilet. DO NOT BUY SONOS!!!!

    Always Needs Resetting

Wanted an Alexa Echo with good sound. Rep suggested Sonos One. Initially, worked fine but after a month, it started having trouble connecting; constantly responding with “I’m sorry. Im having trouble right now.” Please try again later”. Unplugging it for a few minites usually corrects the problem.

Does NOT work with PLEX running on same network

I had purchased the Sonos device to play my own purchased music that I have had for many years and currently on a hard drive attached to my computer. I also purchased PLEX to manage all my movies and music. PLEX works from all my TVs and other devices to play both music and movies, but the SOn device cannot connect to my PLEX media server. I called Sonos help but they said it will not work and it is a problem with PLEX. I find that odd since all my other devices work with PLEX except SONOS. The SONOS will connect to a remote networks PLEX media server and play that music. So, my option is to set up my SONOS on a seperate network or to move my PLEX media server on a different network. I have not tried it yet as I was hopeful SONOS would just fix the problem, but so far no luck.

    Paper weight

Setup once with mixed success connecting to phone. Later tried to setup twice on different networks and cannot connect, even using the ethernet cable. Hours spent trying different setups, resetting router, opening a guest network... nothing. Sonos couldn't pay me the $200 to go through the same frustration again. BTW, I've owned other Sonos products since 2009. The Sonos One is garbage.

No Multi Room Music with Amazon Alexa devices

Kid at Best Buy sold me this saying that it would work with all of my Alexa devices. It is fine stand-alone, but I want my music throughout the house. I already own several Echo's, I'm not coverting to all SONOS. If you build a product with Alexa in it, just make it work with all. Why can't we all just get along?
