Skip this one if you're looking for a 4k pass through receiver, I purchased this two years ago for a home theater room with a projector. But ended up buying a 4k television a year later and decided to hook this up to it and get a new one for the HTR. Let me start by saying this receiver is nice if your using any display other than 4k. I couldn't get this thing to display 4k for the life of me. It does have very nice sound and easy to setup but I have to give it a 1 star for the obvious reason.. not 4k pass through... When I finally did get my xbox one s to display in 4k. it wouldn't allow me use my hdr setting. Also when you change the volume on the receiver the screen would blacken and switch to 480p then the OSD(on-screen display) for the receiver volume would show up to show you changing the volume. Once done using the volume it would revert back to the xbox display. Now although the display registered in 4k at the home screen when I went to netflix I no longer had my ultra hd 4k shows option or hdr.. I just couldn't get this thing to work for me. I've e-mailed Sony several times with their response always linking me to a troubleshooting page that obviously didn't work. I'm a die-hard sony lover but this has me on the breaking point of switching brand names.

This is a good receiver for those who want a good surround sound and home theater experience. It's ideal for movies. As far as a music receiver, the sound is good. However, if the sound is too loud, the receiver tends to turn off automatically. It acts as a circuit breaker to protect the receiver from overload. If you want a more powerful receiver, this receiver isn't the one for you. But if you want exceptional surround sound for an outstanding home theater experience, then this is the one.

The system was easy to set up the challenge was that my TV doesn't have speakers so it took awhile to figure out how to get the correct sound. The system needs to be on "2 output" in order to have a picture & sound.

This receiver isn't top of the line but it has enough power and versatility to give any home theater a nice punch and clean sound. Great buy at 200.

More than enough power for a medium size room.. Only negative, is this model does not let you switch to bluetooth with the remote. Must go into the setup menu.

Clean sound. The install was easy - I have not set up all five speakers but I look forward to the surround sound feature.

Nice unit for the price. The setup directions were lacking some info. I have no need for this reciever to be hooked up to my TV via hdmi cord,but you can not set up the presets without hooking it up to the tv. Had to search the internet to figure that out

This receiver can perform most of it's function to include connection to cable box and Apple TV. However, I was not able to successfully connect my optical cable from my bose system to the receiver.

Using in the bedroom with a Bose AM-10 speaker setup. This provides many more options vs. using one of the Bose home theater units, and is far higher quality than using any of the "home theater in a box" products from Sony, Yamaha, etc. Very low price when purchased on sale and it is easy to use.

Unusual for me, but I had to read an online manual so I could change some of the default settings to get optical audio to work on the video input. You really have to play with some of the sound (equalizer) settings to get the type of sound you want.

Unit has no speaker control no bass or treble increase if ur looking for a unit that you use stream Pandora thru Bluetooth only this is it. The next model up has Bluetooth, pandora, Sirius built-in

We got a great deal on this Sony in-home theater receiver. The order process was simple and it was helpful to have so many good reviews. Good packaging and the order was delivered on time. Our room isn't done yet so the receiver is still in the box.

I initially liked this receiver, it's easy to use, the Bluetooth works great, but then I found that when I turned it up it sounded totally distorted. That was a deal breaker for me, I returned it.

Neede to replace my 20 year old receiver. This unit slipped into the space available easily and reconnecting to the rest of my equipment was a breeze. Great sounds neat features.

Overall happy with this, would hope they simplify this a bit and also automatic sync with TV(does not always happen)

This receiver was easy to set up even without a printed manual. It did fit my needs for my outside speakers. Tried a Bluetooth connection but could not connect. Have to look at online manual.

A great entry level AV receiver. Easy hook-up and clearly marked connectors. Works well just as advertised. Nothing fancy, but more than adequate for every day use unless you are seeking to create a sophisticated home theater experience.

We are enjoying this with the bluetooth capacity to play music from our iphones, etc. It produces great sound and pictures.

I bought this receiver at the same time I purchased a Sony XBR75X850D UHDTV. The two work perfectly together with an HDMI cable with ADR support attached. The TV switches the AV unit on and off automatically and the TV remote also controls the AV unit without any extra reprogramming. The Sony Sync function works wonderfully. The receiver itself is, well, a Sony. It does what a receiver is supposed to do and it does it well. The auto-calibration feature, with the supplied calibration microphone, is easy and I heard a definite improvement in the surround sound after calibration.

Easy to use and hook up. I am using Definitive speakers with this unit and it is awesome. Recently added 2 QSC K12 speakers and WOW just like being there.
