I am no expert on this type of equipment, but hooking this up to my existing JBL system was a breeze. The sons output is great

It was pretty easy to set up, but the instructions are not very clear. I'm still trying to figure some of the features out. It connects to my iphone via bluetooth, but I have to pair it every time I want to use it. I have indoor and outdoor speakers connected and it's tricky to find the right button on the remote to make them both work. I'm still studying the manual to figure it out.

Just picked up this receiver for my surround sound home theater. I haven't had a chance to use it yet so I am really excited to see how well it works!

Has a small amount of speaker distortion during loud action scenes. But I think a little tuning will fix that. Video and switching seem to work great.

The receiver works fine, and we are happy with it, but the instruction manual is lacking a lot of info. It does not tell you a lot of what you need to know to set up two zones. I had a professional install it and it took him a couple of hours to figure it out. Don't think I could have done it on my own.

I really like the fact that I can connect directly to it from my smartphone. It has enough HDMI inputs to satisfy my needs, so I'm pretty happy.

So, we had an extra large size computer monitor, but it doesn't have speakers built in. It does, however, have HDMI inputs. This receiver (4 HDMI inputs, plus Audio Return Channel) allowed us to use the spare monitor for a laptop and Amazon Fire stick, and we probably will add more later. For some reason, it was on clearance, so it was a smokin' deal (let's just say it was well under 2 bills).

The over 250 page pdf manual is virtually worthless for the very difficult setup of the amp. If I had known how primitive the onscreen menus were, I would have purchased another Onkyo. Still haven't wasted enough time to learn how to set up the FM presets. Works well enough for my Blu-ray player and satellite receiver with surround sound to not bother returning it.

Not sure I have it hooked up correctly, but it's sometimes difficult to switch between inputs & without manually adjusting the receiver

Great for the price, easy to use and very simple to hook up.

I can't complain about this it holds all 7 of my speakers I didn't really need the option for a second subwoofer but it's nice to have the option available.

We use this for sound and HDMI switching in our office auditorium. We have a projector and ceiling speakers connected. Works great, sounds great. Bluetooth range seems to be better than others that I have tried. We use a computer and a blue ray player for inputs to the receiver. Overall, good value because it was on sale.

So I purchased this receiver in January of 2015 while it did it's job my only complaint was the Bluetooth pairing had me wanting to smash it. It would pair to my phone and I would play Pandora, Spotify, even watching a movie and the Bluetooth would disconnect randomly my phones Bluetooth would stay on but I found out the receiver would go into stand by on its own.. other than that it did justice with my klipsch set up.

The center channel is not as strong as my old Onkyo. Still works great, just can't handle my Martin Logans. Great for a basic setup!

Sony makes great products, and this is no exception. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a new receiver.

Surprised. I got this to tide me over until I found one I wanted on sale to replace my expensive one that gave up the ghost. To my delight, this one actually has high quality sound and the picture looks great. No issue with 3D pass through and colors pop. Maybe I don't need a really expensive one.
