easy to set up,program speaker, lots of power My last sony was 7yrs old and still working i just wanted more watts

Nice receiver, easy set up, great sound. Sony still a top choice in stereo electronics.

The setup was simple. The sound quality is excellent and the system has enough output to fill a 6,000sq.ft. room.

I have owned a few surround sound receivers (Yamaha, Onkyo, Technics to name a few), but this one has provided the easiest setup and best functions yet. My other receivers claimed to have ARC and Auto switching, but this Sony did it without any special configuring. All I had to do was connect my HDMI cables and it worked great. Very satisfied with this product.

Replacing a failed 30 year old receiver. This one more than filled the bill. Great features, and great price.

I really enjoy this receiver that allows me to hook up all my devices via HDMI and output a nice powerful sound. The Bluetooth makes it easy for everyone to connect and play music from a mobile phone without having to be tied up next to it. The only thing I found odd was that the remote only allows you to cycle through the stereo presets but not actually dial down to a specific radio frequency.

First I should say I am no way a techy. I have a feeling that I am not alone so this review is probably for you. I would rate the installation a 7 out of 10 in difficulty for a non-techy to install. I just purchased a 70" 4K TV. I already had a surround system but it was 10 years old. The Best Buy sales person said my old system was not "true" surround and I needed to upgrade as this tuner is "true" surround sound (not electronically modified to mimic surround sound). The price on this tuner wasn't that bad so I did it. Boy am I glad. First of all, all the connections for peripheral hardware (Bluray players, etc) are all made through the Tuner, not the TV. It is the first stop, so you should have a good tuner! I used HDMI cable from the tuner to the TV. It is the easiest to install, good quality of signal, and one of the cheapest ways to connect. This tuner is excellent quality and my high end 10 year old surround speakers work fine with it. Also the tuner connection for the speaker wires is solid and easy to install correctly. I rate these connections high as most speaker problems can be traced back to wires working loose, being pulled out, or shorting each other out because the connections are so close and not isolated from each other. The connections on this tuner are isolated and pretty easy and trouble free. The only challenge I had in hook up was my kareoke machine. It only worked properly if I hooked just the sound to the tuner, but the video directly into the TV. If you don't do this there will be a delay with sound and video, not a good thing. I guess my only disappointment is I have yet to figure out how to hook up my ancient cassette player. It seems to me that they should have a way to hook up "old" electronics or is that just me?

the sound is excellent quality. It may be user error on my part but I don't think it has 2 channels. For example if I have it directly connected to my tv through hdmi I can't watch tv and listen to music at the same time. If I wanted to watch a baseball game with no sound and listen to music it wouldn't allow me to do so unless I used an optical cord. Otherwise very happy with the product.

Easy to hook up, great component, awesome reception, great quality

I was able to connect all my components to the receiver and use one HDMI/ARC cable to connect to my television. Setup was fairly simple. The sound is what you would expect from a Sony, which is my personal preference. The software may be a bit confusing for a beginner but not overly so.

Its easy to setup on your own. Haven't figured out how to use the multi zone. Wish there were better quick setup instructions in the box. You have to download additional instructions online. The protector circuit works great, tripped it several times because the source input was too loud. The main menu is kinda clumsy. Bluetooth setup is easy. Toggling between devices can be cumbersome. A friend recommended a universal remote to better intergrate multiple devices while using the receiver. HD picture quality is not distorted or degradated when processed through the unit.

Has great sound quality. Bluetooth options is user friendly. Great buy.
