Goods are obvious: carplay, snappy interface, really clean GUI at home screen, volume knob, great build quality, full graphic EQ, sounds excellent! Bads: USB right under the volume knob is weird ergonomics (wish it was in the back), no album art when streaming Bluetooth, screen REALLY shows oil from fingerprints. Plus I don't think you can add custom wallpaper. But those are all nitpicky.

Great Upgrade

The difference in sound is definitely noticeable. CarPlay is almost a requirement in vehicles, and this fits the bill.

Sometimes when you connect your phone via USB, it stays on the "Pair phone" screen instead of going to carplay. Additionally, just connecting via bluetooth for music, sometimes the audio will cut in and out for a minute before playing music as normal. Sound quality is good though and after the initial cutting in and out, the device has never lost Bluetooth connection from my experience. However, the 2 main issues are too big not to ignore so get a better quality radio. My other car has the pioneer DMH-1500NEX and so far I have not had any issues after over a year of ownership. I recommend that one.

However, track selection is only available through the touchscreen. Sounds good and does the job, though.

Screen could be bigger but quality and sound is GREAT! Apple carplay is so solid!!!

Screen visibility is good, not great, in bright sun and is responsive enough for the price. High and Low pass filters, along with sub level makes dialing in after market speakers and sub a breeze. Low voltage on outputs means turning up the gain a bit but not a deal breaker. Built in amp pushes factory speakers nice and even high efficient or 3ohm speakers fairly well. Over all a budget friendly, nice sounding, head unit for those who don’t need all the extra bells and whistles.

User Friendly

So, I gave one to my daughter for her birthday. Our hands free laws were enacted here in GA so it was imperative to install something that was bluetooth compatible with our Apple phones. This is very easy to operate. Just a note for our less tech savvy crowd! My daughter loves that her music plays from her library on her phone!
