Would freeze when using Apple Car Play

The Sony was exactly what I was looking for. Unfortunately this radio did not perform as expected. The Car Play application would freeze and I would need to disconnect the iphone from the radio and reconnect. Sometimes this did not even work. Best Buy customer service was terrific and quickly replaced the radio with another one. I experienced the exact same problems. Best Buy then put in a Kenwood brand radio and has been working perfect.

Now, I have Apple Car Play. Best this is that BB installed it for free and did a great job

Pros: Apple Car Play Cons: It frequently just has no audio or sometimes just has no bass, all treble. Either a junk radio or improperly installed. Not happy to have to deal with bringing it back.

He also finished an originally 2 hour job in just over an hour. Very friendly and welcoming. I’ll definitely be back if I choose to install more electronics in my car!

The XAV-AX1000 was primarily designed with Apple CarPlay connectivity in mind, but it does support Android phones through Bluetooth audio streaming and hands-free calling. This allows you to listen to music, podcasts, and take calls from your Android device through the stereo. While it may not offer the same app-based control and display as Apple CarPlay, we hope you can still get great use out of its core Bluetooth features.

Great stereo for the money

The only reason I didn't give it 5-Stars is there is no 'off' button. You can turn the sound off but the unit is always on when the car is on. This isn't a problem, and may be the way in-dash screen receivers work.

However since older cars didn’t plan for screens in their center console there’s a lot of glare when it’s sunny. Worth jerryrigging a plastic piece over to help!!

The only thing I don’t quite like about it is that when it’s bright outside and the sun is shining on it, it’s hard to see the screen. Other than that it’s great.
