Mislead but fixed by Geek Squad

For one, the screen always seems to have a bad glare on it and makes it difficult to see even with the brightness all the way up. My Apple CarPlay no longer works either which I’m sure BestBuy would fix, but is still annoying that I have to come in and have it fixed after spending $280 and only have had for 2 months. And one last thing, this doesn’t have anything to do with the product itself but with the Best Buy install, they do give you a free install but won’t connect it to your steering wheel controls unless you pay for it, and they don’t ask you if you want it either which I think is kinda weird...

Here are some community-recommended steps that might help:
Double-check the USB connection: The XAVAX1000 connects to CarPlay via a USB cable that sometimes uses an extension behind the dashboard. Several users have found that a loose or faulty USB extension or connection at the rear of the head unit caused CarPlay to stop activating completely. Ensuring the cable is firmly connected or replacing a suspect extension can often resolve the issue.
Try a different USB cable: Use an original Apple Lightning cable, as third-party or older cables may not reliably work with CarPlay.
Update your iPhone: Make sure your phone’s software is fully updated, as compatibility issues between iOS and head unit firmware can sometimes disrupt CarPlay functionality.
Restart the head unit and iPhone: Power cycling both devices has helped some community members restore CarPlay connectivity.
Firmware Confirmation: The correct firmware for the XAVAX1000 should be version 1.01 for updates, although some units ship with 1.20 from the factory.
