    Worst Buy Ever

    Purchasing this item was a horrible experience. I was attracted by the offer of free installation on top of the sale price, only to discover that the nearest installation location is a 30 min drive away. After waiting for my appointment date to arrive, driving 30 min, collecting the extra parts I had to purchase from customer service, I discovered that some items I requested hadn't been added to my order which would require a second visit. Then, upon returning to the installation bay, was told the stereo will not even be able to installed in my 2013 vehicle! On top of that, the installer was rude and unsympathetic. Why couldn't this have been flagged during the appointment scheduling process?? One of the worst customer experiences of my life.

    The sirius cuts in and out with a brand new antennae. Then carplay freezes up. So its good when it works, i wouldnt advise getting it

    The unit is great, but it doesnt fit my car

    The best buy website says that this unit fits my 2010 Honda CR-V but it does not. I need to purchase an installation kit for it to work. I would by no means call that "fitting" which is pretty ridiculous. Not trusting that feature anymore.

    Disappointed in SONY

    On Nov 2018, I purchased this Sony XAV-X1000 Car AV Receiver and after installation by Best Buy I tried to pair the unit with my iPhone and it wouldn’t pair. I tried different iPhones, same problem. Sony’s tech support informed me there is a known firmware bug and I need to wait for a firmware upgrade. Apply Car Play also has issues. Sony could not provide a date when firmware would be released. I am contemplating on returning the unit. Very disappointed as this was a birthday gift for my son’s first car. I do not recommend purchasing this Sony!

    Does not sound as good as the one that was in my 2007 Tacoma. No Bass and sounds kind of tinny.

    Do not purchase this radio. It is NOT user friendly. When your phone is plugged into CarPlay, there are an array of issues. First, if you open any app, the music turns off. This would be one thing if the music started playing again once the app was closed but it doesn’t work that way- you have to go back to the music and select it again. If a passenger’s phone is plugged in to charge, this issue is especially prevalent. In Sirius XM, you have to click through every station - the dial doesn’t work to skip quickly through stations. I have a 2013 Toyota RAV4 and Best Buy told me this radio would be compatible but it does not work with half of my steering controls. There are several more issues to note. It does not seem that this product was user tested before mass produced. Find a different product.

    It's just basic at best. It has no features and it sounds bad. Best Buy installed it and they uninstalled it and replaced it with a real unit that I'm very happy with. Very disappointed with Sony.

    Worst purchase I could have made

    The clock does not keep time. Today it said 10:45 pm when it was 12:13 pm. I reset it, it goes out again. When I connect my phone, Pandora radio starts automatically. I shut off Pandora and the radio tuner comes on. The volume controls on the stereo and on the steering wheel do not work when using Android Auto. I simply hate this stereo and it is coming out. I bought it roughly 6 months ago so I have tried, researched, changed every possible setting on both the stereo and the phone to correct these problems and nothing works. Do not waste your money.

    Should’ve followed my first mind!!

    The minute I got 2 phone calls, I should’ve just took my car then. If my appt is from 10-12 or maybe a second over, I expect just that. I been waiting on my car 4hrs and counting with excuses. No, I don’t understand interruptions, no, I don’t understand being short staffed. If the job can’t be completed in a timely fashion, then don’t take appt.

    I've never been more disappointed in a product. I was super excited once I got this radio. It worked great and I loved Car play. Well I guess good things don't last forever because the very next day I was welcomed by a black screen every time I tried using Car play to listen to Spotify. Do not buy this radio. You're better off spending your $400.00 elsewhere.

    if you want your steering wheel controls to work go ahead and add another $160. Who wants their new stereo installed and not be able to use your controls that you've already had in place and working?

    Bummer of a radio

    Not happy because its cheap looking and very small. If you have any sight issues with small print don't get this. I can't even read the GPS system. The mic doesn't work. So it renders the Apple Car Play useless.
