OK Google Is Broken, Iffy Support

I purchased this item and was able to get it installed without a problem. "OK Google" works through the proper mic but the unit listens to some answers using the phone mic, making the product not incredibly useful for things like "Call <this person>". I've reached out to their tech support and they were telling me it's a hardware issue and clearly didn't understand that there was a provided mic. I don't trust that the issues will be resolved.

Good UI & sound - but issues, then it died

The plus - great user interface, simple and attractive. Responsive touch screen (but the tuner buttons could be made larger). Great custom sound options. Integrates well with Android Auto. The negatives - device would not keep proper time, regardless of factory resets. Device would lock on a blank screen sporadically - literally had to turn the car off and restart to reset the unit. Final problem - the Sony died after about 67 days. Within the Sony warranty, but to replace the unit it would have to be uninstalled and shipped back to Sony on my dime. And new unit installed on my dime. Which altogether is the cost of a new unit anyway. Sorry Sony.

Not what I had hoped for

Pros: It looks pretty cool. Cons: The bluetooth feature is TERRIBLE. Everyone I speak to using the bluetooth says that it sounds like I'm speaking through a muffled tunnel and on top of it I get disconnected from it about every 10 minutes. It reconnects after about 5 seconds, but it is very annoying. I remember when I was looking at head units I was between this one and a Pioneer and someone working at Best Buy recommended the Pioneer "by a mile". My thought process was that since it is a Sony product must be good. Plus it looked sleek. Boy I wish I listened to the employee! For how expensive it is, I definitely don't recommend this product. I have NO IDEA how this product has a 4.6 out of 5 stars.

Worked great for a short time

I bought this and it worked great for about 2 months then it would turn off and on randomly. Luckily I purchased the extended warranty. When I returned it I thought they would give me a different radio but they said they would have to send this one back for repairs. That’s great. I spent $400 bucks on a new radio. They said it would be 2 to 3 before I’d get it back. So now I end up with no radio for 3 weeks and a refurbished radio. NOT HAPPY,

    Terrible Experience. Choose Another Male/Model

I was hoping for an opportunity to give this product (0) stars. After some research on top Double-Din style receivers I decided to go with Sony. The reviews for this particular were rated at (4.5) stars which I thought to be fair. My appointment the day of installation was at 11 AM, and approximately 20 minutes after the installation the product started to drop calls, produce a black screen, and turn off on its own accord. I immediately called BestBuy, and was informed I could have been in possession of a faulty unit. I was given the option to have a new Sony unit (same model as purchased), or return for a refund. I ultimately decided to give Sony another chance, and had a new unit placed in my vehicle. The process required another trip to Bestbuy, and took approximately 20 minutes. The unit worked fine for a total of four days, and then started to produce similar problems then the previously installed unit. All in all, this unit was not cheap, and was nothing less then a paint to deal with. I have decided to have this unit removed from my vehicle, and deal with the struggles of an ordinary AM/FM receiver. Stay Away From This Unit. Sony customer service was just as unsatisfactory as the product itself.

Probably a good unit, but missing key features

This unit is missing all the key features that I asked for (and that the BB salesman said it had) when I pre-ordered it. Note that the unit actually does not have a CD/DVD player, does not support HD radio, does not support XM radio, does not have wifi (bluetooth only). So, for me, it would only be an extraordinarily expensive analog AM/FM tuner.

    Last Sony Car stereo purchase

I have 3 Sony TV and 2 PS4's but this Sony deck is such a disappointment. Been back to Best Buy 3 times with this unit. What a mistake it was to think this garbage from Sony would not need Geek Squad protection, but it has blown the inline fuse twice, and has frozen up numerous times. The lastest repair lasting 4 days before it shut down. The Best Buy installer that repaired it last remarked how almost every Sony deck they sell usually comes back with issues.
