Great receiver! Hard to imagine there is a better receiver at this price point than this one. The 4 volt preamp outputs along with the reviews from Cr*tchfie!d & Bestbuy is really what sold me on buying this head unit online without ever seeing it in person.

I love that I can play my amazon music through the apple car play and I can text hands free through this as well! Now to get my back up camera!

Great audio for the voice speakers used it in a single cab truck so it was perfect i added and amp for the lows but is really worth the price i got it when it was 270 js

I was debated for almost a month on which radio to install in my 2013 Tacoma. I regret not buying a more expensive model. While screen brightness turned out to be not nearly as bad as people have made it seem, the radio just isn’t powerful enough to keep up with the demands of Apple carplay. It works smoothly 90% of the time, but the second you answer/make a phone call it drops to 2-3fps and I’ve yet to get 1 minute into a phone call until the entire system freezes up. Forcing me to unplug my phone and either rinse and repeat for the duration of the call or risk a ticket by just holding the phone. The mic is pretty crappy quality, but it’s better than some. Far from being close to the quality of my factory mic though. You get what you pay for, so I’d suggest saving up for a more expensive radio.

Great device! I wish I would have purchased the panel controls and the rear camera all together.

Extra adapters and wires were needed but overall perfect stereo . Fit well with dash kit I ordered.

Just spent 385 dollars on a useless radio. Purchased a certified open box that had been "inspected" well it's missing the most important part. The power plug. Shipping box was destroyed and the price on the box was less than I had paid.

Purchased this based on other Sony products - found out that this stereo was recently released and brand new to the shelves. So far, we love it! It improved the sound of music when played from a phone - before our vehicle was very quiet. Touch screen is sensitive enough, it comes with a remote too, which we didnt realize. Installation with Geeksquad was fast and easy and they did a great job!

Use both the Apple Car Play and Bluetooth features and provides really great sound. Didn't realize it didn't have the XM Radio included, but can use my XM Radio app without any problems. Backup camera also works well, with a good sharp picture!

This is a good basic unit. Backup Camera and Apple Carplay. It functions fine but lacks advanced features. I had originally purchased the Pioneer AVH-2330NEX but had to return it due to a firmware issue concerning the backup camera interface (I actually tried two separate units and wasn't ever able to resolve the issue). When I took back the second Pioneer, Best Buy Geek Squad told me that other consumers had brought back the Pioneer with the same issue. Come on Pioneer... You're better than that. If the Pioneer had worked correctly, I would have kept it over the Sony, as it is a far superior unit. In fact, the Pioneer has soooo many more options and the menu interface is sooo superior over the Sony; If they ever get the camera issue resolved, I'll replace the Sony with the Pioneer. Bottom line though, the Sony is a good unit and if you just need a basic unit for the Car Play function, this will work just fine.

For this money very good quality and many features. If you don’t have a rear camera: the system sometimes ignores the configuration and still shows the black screen. Beside that this is fantastic receiver with Apple CarPlay!

Super nice quality, Apple car play works flawlessly

I bought this for a Land Rover ; it looks great in the car and makes it feel more modern. The sound is pretty good - and the radio is better than the one previous. The integration of Android Auto really is the selling point, giving me the ability to see Waze on the screen and use Spotify as well. I just love it, one of my favourite purchases of the year! When not using Android Auto, the Bluetooth connection is great, I've had no connectivity issues either. The only thing I wish could be integrated would be the ability to use a night mode on my maps/waze - as it doesn't change in the same way as if using the phone itself. But I think that's a software rather than a hardware issue.

I put this in my 2007 Ford Explorer and it gave the entire car a second life. My Explorer has aged very well, if you ignore the infotainment system (or lack of one). I put this thing in. In under 3 hours I had XM, Apple CarPlay, Bluetooth, integrated phone and steering wheel controls, and a backup camera. I’ve got 135k miles on the car, but it will easily go 220k before it isn’t worth keeping anymore. The issue was dated tech. So, for a few hundred bucks, my driving experience has improved dramatically.

Unit went into a 2011 Toyota Sequoia to replace kaput radio. Sounds is good, controls are easy. Apple Play works great. Phone calls are easy and straight-forward. Downside? The screen is dim if not shaded. Most surprising thing is the very few selections of screen background (4? - Sony says that is all) and the screen info for XM, FM, and Bluetooth is spartan. I was shocked at the minimalist fonts and selection buttons when not in Apple Play. If I had to do it again, would look for a much more updated display and a unit that could link to two phones.

I was getting the Pioneer stereo with DVD player installed. I figured if I’m paying for a new stereo, I wanted all the bells and whistles. I purchased an open box item, so when I went in to get it installed they told me the Bluetooth mic and some other pieces were missing. So open box is not the best option. Well they only had this Sony and a off brand. This one was more than the Pioneer, but they worked it out to basically price match it. I hate that I can’t watch videos on it (I like to do that when I’m waiting for my kids), but it’s super easy to use. I love the Bass Boost and the equalizer. You notice the sound difference between the factory deck and this stereo immediately. Sounds amazing and I don’t even have an amp or sub. I just changed out the factory 6.5 speakers to a set of JBL and a set of Rockford Fosgate. This stereo put it over the top.
