Great Reciever for a beginner
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this unit based on Sony's brand name and the ability to use Car Play. I have a sub AMP and also a Mid and High Amp. I found that the power coming out for the pre-amps was not enough to power my amps. Sound quality was OK but not as good as the pioneer unit had previously had. I ended up returning this unit and getting a Pioneer unit with the 4volt Pre-amps. This is the only issue i had with this unit.

Biggest piece of crap

You can not play anything off of a usb stick either. Waste of money. I wish I coukd have my old stereo back

Sony’s product quality is deplorable!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Where to start? DO NOT PURCHASE THIS DEVICE! Further, strongly avoid Sony’s poor product line. Their devices exhibit pairing issues with iPhones even when Firmware has been updated. I still cannot get the voice command to work even after factory resets and software updates on both the Sony and my iPhone. For the amount of time I’ve spent reading the product manual, troubleshooting their and my device, and on the phone with their inept customer service, I feel I am actually owed a cash settlement payout for my time wasted. Yet, I did earn one new absolute truth: I WILL NEVER AGAIN PURCHASE ANYTHING SONY! This organization is apparently no longer representative of quality. I would sooner use my iPhone and the cheap, old Bluetooth speaker I keep on my bike than rely on their garbage products to entertain and guide me while in transit. Even in the rare instances in which this Sony device ACTUALLY “works,” it experiences lags in communication from the external device (e.g. my iPhone) to the display. For example, I often have noted a lack of responsiveness on the touch display for sound apps, requiring me to use the phone, and apps such as Pandora often don’t actually display what one’s listening to but, sadly, a different, long-since passed song. I’ve made arrangements to swap this out with an Alpine. I repeat my conviction that Sony produces subpar products rife with technical deficiencies. In that their software patches do nothing to rectify these issues, they’ve demonstrated an organizational ineptitude such that I state my pledge to never purchase their products again. I’ve wasted enough time to date in dealing with Sony to last multiple lifetimes.

DO NOT BUY FOR ANDROID!!

The system constantly disconnects from Android Auto and tells me that my device is not compatible. I have a Samsung Note 8, so its not like I am using something ancient. If you go to the Sony Forum, I am definitely not the only one and sony has no fix. Sadly, because I had to wait 3 weeks for geek squad to install, i can't even return the stupid thing.

Beeeps While Driving, phone audio too low

The Head Unit Started Beeping whenever I was driving and the parking brake lite on the dash would flash on and off. When I came to a stop it would stop beeping, however when I resumed driving it would start again! I drove to work and at the end of the day my battery was drained leaving me stranded. In fairness the battery was 7 years old, coincidence, not sure..I put in a new battery and miraculously the beeping went away and the flashing parking brake lite on the dash went away. End of story? Happy ending? Not quite, the next day it all started over, I drove to Best Buy where the installation was done and they said they would try swapping out a new board to see if that would fix it. I also noticed that phone calls are barely audible when using the bluetooth hands free feature. It was so bad that I had to disconnect the bluetooth and use the handset. I am hoping they can resolve the issue when I bring it back in. Too bad because I really like the features of the reciever and the menu layout. The Stereo itself sounds great.

Worst service ever

The installer did not re-instal the dash screw for my jeep. As a result the only thing holding my dash on is a couple factory clips. After I complained to the manager it took 3 weeks for them to respond to my email. Was told it would take an additional 2 weeks to get an appointment for them to fix their own mistake because they were backed up. What a joke. I will never give another dollar to Best Buy again in my life. I’ve been shopping here over 25 years, never again. Poor service like theirs is why Amazon and Walmart are going to put them out of business.

Nice looking unit but no options

Very little adjustability for subwoofer settings. No HPF OR LPF. Minimal equalizer change available. Other than that it is an OK unit

The product itself was fine until it stopped working 16 months later. Due to the product only having a one year warranty from Sony, they were unable to do anything about it and now we are stuck with a faulty product after less than a year and a half. If you would like to waste your money, go ahead and buy this product. If you do be sure to get protection on it because you will FOR SURE need it. Will not be purchasing a Sony product again, they have the worst customer service around.

No CD player with XAV-AX3000 Receiver

The installer couldn't figure it out. I ended up removing the unit and returning. I went with an Alpine. I would not recommend this Stereo.
