This product was extremely easy to set up right out of the box. Inputs and outputs are well marked and unlike my previous AV unit this one will support a subwoofer in addition to the other groups of speakers.

I needed to replace a more expensive but older Onyko receiver that was not working properly. I am using it in a basement family room that is about 12 x 22 feet with 2 front mounted floor speakers plus a base and 2 high rear-wall mounted speakers. I tried it with the latest Star Wars DVD and it gave excellent sound out of all the speakers. The directions and the labeling of the HDMI ports and speaker channels made it relatively easy to set up. Only time will tell how long it will last but because it was one of the lesser expensive receivers, I will be happy to get at least several years use out of it.

Easy set-up, solid sound for small room surround system, enough HDMI ports, simple remote. Used it in a second room for small room theatre room. Provides all basics w/o hassle or expense. At $135 - can't beat it.

This is a great sounding Surround Sound receiver for a great low price. The remote for the receiver is very conveniently designed, putting all of the major features of the unit at your fingertips. Besides allowing easy access to the main operating capabilities of the unit, the remote also lets you choose the sound field that will serve as the auditory environment for your music or voice. The only drawback with the receiver, as with almost all Surround Sound receivers, is that it is complicated to set up, and the quick start directions that come with the unit really aren't helpful. I would recommend that before buying the unit that any potential customer download the full operator's manual from the Sony website and study what connections are required for its Pass-Through technology. It will help keep frustration to a minimum.

I use it with 4 Yamaha outdoor speakers and a project it works well

Moved into a home with surround sound speakers and needed a receiver to work with the speakers. Didn't want to pay a whole lot but wanted good sound. This was the answer. Easy to setup and sounds amazing.

Great HT receiver, comes with a easy setup microphone that plugs in the front of the unit with a long cord and will adjust the 3 2.2 speaker volume automatically. When you turn up the volume number shows up on the TV screen. Sound is great.

Receiver was easy to set up with the exception of the awkward angle for inserting the speaker wires into the contacts. Sound is good, operation is easy and the features should satisfy most users.

Loaded with nice features for a moderate home theater setup.

Sony has done a great job with there new equipment. I bought this Receiver to replace a Denon receiver great cookie works well easy to program and enough power to please any diehard fan. You can't go wrong way to SONY keep it up!!!
