Great receiver. Great sound. Great price. Would recommend to anyone needing a decent receiver.

We bought this receiver to replace a decade-old Sony unit that finally stopped working. After reading specifications and reviews we chose this one; we're not disappointed. Hookup (all HDMI) and operation are more seamless than the older unit and the on-screen setup menu is really handy. The only negative is that it sometimes blanks both video and audio when using for TV viewing. This may occur when the TV signal from the cable box 'tiles', but there's no easy way know for sure.

I have a couple of Onkyo receivers, and like their quality build and power handling capability. However, my existing unit in the family room was short on input options, and after reviewing a few options, I decided to give this Sony unit a try. I am happy with this unit, except for the time lag for it to come on when powered up. It seems to take twice as long as my Onkyo units, but that is a small price to pay for an otherwise excellent receiver.

Upon opening the box there wasn't any operations book or manual. Just a folded sheet of different types of ways to use the reciever depending on your home theater situation. I had to go online and find a digital manual so that I could navigate through the recievers menu. Ive had this item for a month now and still confused in getting to the right menu setting.

Sony quality easy to use, worked with my bose speakers and kiplisch sub, perfect for small to medium rooms.

It was on discount, and I was encouraged by a fine salesman so I bought it. But after experiencing high-end speakers, I returned it and ordered a Yamaha RX-A1070 that I'm truly looking forward to but haven't received yet. I expect both units to be quite good, but it's important to match the receiver to what you are driving and what you want for controls and interaction.

It's basic but it sounds great. I have good speakers and a nice sub, and this receiver powers them easily. Sound is very good.

I did not expect all that much from this AV Receiver but it played 4K as a through put and it was 5: 1 which is what I needed. Well, much to my surprise and amazement the sound was a quantum leap over my previous AV/Receiver. You actually hear what is being said; where sound are coming from; and, sounds you have never even hard before. It is like the difference between listening to a concert on a CD and actually going to a live concert--there is that great a difference.

It runs two subs and my klipsch reference surround sound flawlessly. Replaced a pioneer (never buy pioneer, worst customer service I've ever received) very happy with my purchase

I am completely satisfied with this receiver and Sony quality.It is compatible with my Sony tv and was easy to install.

I like the HDMI connection and 100 watt system was great for a small apartment. Easy comparability an onscreen setup.

Love Sony and really wanted to keep this but since it isn't 2.2 4K compliant wasn't going to work

I like this receiver for now cause it does what I need it to do. Right now I'm just using it to power my two klipsch bookshelf speakers until I get the money for more. It does a great job, blew me away with movies but with the lack of adjustments that could be made, I have to give this 4 stars. This is a beginners receiver, it's not going to be as great as the other high end receivers but I'm happy with it.

You can not beat this receiver for the price. it has a lot of outputs and good sound. connecting it is a breeze,

Setup was simple, however, when watching Blueray discs the TV screen goes blank for a few second when you adjust volume. Quite annoying for movies that have drastic volume changes. It only happens when using Bluerays, screen does not black out when adjusting volume while watching cable TV or gaming,
