Does what it needs to... versatile, meat and potatoes device

Ok, so not a lot of bells and whistles here, but we wanted it to run the speakers in the ceiling when we were away from home, and this receiver is perfect. We got it on sale and it’s perfect for what we wanted to do.

Straight from the box, set up was easy. It updated and practically set the settings automatically. I have a 5.2 stereo speaker system and to set the volume for each was automatically performed by the optimizer microphone. So EASY.

High Definition with 3D pass thru A/V home Theayer reciever works great with our movie theatre recliner chairs. The chairs vibrate to the clear sound. Fit our needs.

I bought this late May/early June. I'm pleased with the sound and the features for the price, but the unit will not stay on. I thought it may be from overheating. That wasn't it - I powered the unit on after one of the random shut-downs and worked for hours after powering it back on. I did some research and tried all off the suggestions - making certain sleep timer wasn't set, resetting to factory settings, etc. Nothing seems to work, and there seems to be no rhyme or reason to this issue.

I was forced to upgrade to a different receiver thanks to my old blue ray player Breaking down. Turns out it was a blessing in disguise's. I now have HD quality sound, plus the non remastered CDs sound better in this system.

I wanted a multi channel receiver to run two sets of speakers for my turntable. Not only does it power both speakers for my turntable but I also use it thru my direct tv box for great surround sound

Love the fact that I can pick up my phone and turn on the receiver and start listening to my playlist off my phone. Got this on sale and what a great deal it was. Worth every penny.

Without going high end does everything I need for less.

We prefer larger speakers than those in sound bars. Our previous older receiver had no HDMI switching. This was an excellent inexpensive solution for our medium efficiency speakers.

Ordered this to replace a 15 year old Yahama receiver. Connected to Bose Acoustimass speakers/woofer and Bose center channel. Wow...sound is really great in family room. Recommend. You will not be disappointed.

I looked at several units while at BestBuy. You can never go wrong asking for help from all the staff. Simple to hook up and simple to use. Glad the floor staff gave me a professional opinion while comparing the models.

I purchased this unit (Sony - 725W 5.2-Ch. Full HD and 3D Pass-Through A/V Home Theater Receiver) instead of a sound bar, added a center speaker and 4 fluance theater speakers and my 4k TV sounds great!

Recently purchased this receiver and really like it.

This is a great sounding receiver. I had dificulty getting my streaming tv to run apps sound. After online research I was able to get it to wòrk. This seems to be a common issue.

Bought this to replace a very old Sony that could not connect to my newer TV. Using the Speakers and other parts from the old system this, using the HDMI inputs switches between inputs and sounds great on movies.

It doesn't have all the frills of its bigger brothers, but it will accept the standard input types and do surround sound. remember to set those speakers to 'small' to get the subwoofer to work. silly Sony thing
